There are still gonna be 5-10 threads by November about why Morgan is so stupid and didnt draft X person.  Guys are gonna break through.  They always do.

I'm usually a nerd when it comes to the draft, however I haven't paid any attention to this year's draft class. My general sense is that it's a weak class? There aren't any blue chip prospects or generational talents it seems like.

me too, Ive only just drove in and Im did not follow college ball hardcore. Im a current normie. *after a couple hours of digging, it does feel weak after the second round compared to other recent ones. Only good part thus far, I think Panthers will have a shot at drafting a LT in either round 1 or 2. If you want a edge, you better either pray one falls to 19 or trade up. Using the panthers 3rd they can get in front of TB at pick 13/14. I don't think its worth it tho.

Just feels like, yea BPA and all that*****BUT the draft value is following-

1- edge

2- LT

3- ILB

4- TE

5- C

5- S

6- BPA/QB/LB/WR/NB/punter

You talking about LT Overton? You want back2back OT picks?!?!?! Overton is one of those that can play a few spots along the line, that's a evero piece to move around. He can play edge, 5/3 tech about anything not nose.

I've found if you pass on edge in the 1st, its near empty 2-7. Still its impossible Francis is there. same goes for third round and forth. Other are upside all-ins, finerererererererer would be proud.....

My bad. Brain fart.  Agree if we get Mauigoa at 19 (we won't though) we should go D. Meant someone at LB at that point.  I agree that not getting an Edge early means we aren't improving much by taking one 3 or later.

I generally disagree with the concept of picking a position because of value early in the draft. For instance, if there's a really good safety, RB or ILB at pick 10, I'm choosing him over a project WR or DE. Better players make the team better. A bunch of ok players will give you an ok team. The number 1 goal of the draft should be to improve the overall talent on the team. Not to fill positions of need.

Deciding beforehand that you're picking a LT in the first or second round because Ickey went down is not the way to improve the team. Now if Dan has similar grades on 2 or 3 players and one happens to be a LT, then yeah go for it. But don't pass on your guy at ILB because you have a gap at LT or need to improve the pass rush with a DE. When those guys don't pan out then you haven't improved your team. But that LB could have been a franchise cornerstone for years to come. See Luke Kuechly and Christian McCaffrey.
