Yeah, I just don't know how it can be justified to keep the status quo of Canales and/or Young on a 7-10 mark, or worse.

I get that Canales never got to select his guy, but he knew that coming in too. We've seen a couple examples recently of coaches getting that 1 last shot with a newly drafted QB, and they've been sent packing anyway and then the talk is how it's a lost season for the rookie's development.

I don't believe at the moment we'll do better than 7-10

I mean the coach sees the limitations in practice and probably doesn't call certain plays that he knows will be certain interceptions like how BY basically started his NFL career lol.  "OK gameplan, Bryce can't throw over the middle, can't qb sneak, and can't throw an accurate ball 50 yards unless the guy is wide open and has a 7 foot wingspan and/or a 40" vertical, and we don't wanna gas our defense, got it!"

I think we've seen improvement in Bryce's performance. It still isn't up to world beater status, but in Canales defense, he can say that the limitations of the player were hit. I think he survives that even if Bryce doesn't.

Still, I think it's a 50/50 shot for Bryce to make it. QB is one of the toughest jobs to do in the sports world, if not the most, so the failure rate is really high, no matter the pedigree. Heck, Archie Manning gets a lot of credit as a great QB but anyone who saw his career in motion knows he wasn't really that good and he was surrounded by bottom of the bowl players. He did get it figured out with his sons, though. That grandson... maybe.

He's handing off play calling duties to fuging Brad Idzik as well so, either that mouth breather can run the playbook and Canales can grow as an all around head coach or it will be a horrible decision and both of them and BY can screw off. I'm fine with that as long as it isn't just another excuse for BY to get another year with another coach worthy of working around his limitations as a qb.

I think it would be more about him using his stubborn side of his, which is technically stupid, but if he wasn't the actual owner of the team he would have a much different opinion of the current situation, looking from the outside in as the lame hedge fund guy that he is.

Hell he is born coach assassin. Wanted to fire Tomlin when he was part of the Steelers minority owners. So they say. 
 

So yeah I guess he could do something like that.
