If you want to keep your current huddle account then you will have to create a separate email for the huddle and verify the new one via email. And you can also link the new email to your main email if you so choose. I would suggest using something like Proton Mail. It is a fairly straightforward process that shouldn't take more than a few minutes even on mobile.

Or make it a one button thing in a menu. Having to remember a name to mute it is annoying.

Not following. Each account was started with its own email. Are you saying try to "merge" the accounts via email in a sense? That doesn't seem like it would work. Wouldn't the safest way to be is just wait for the new confirmation email from your original account?

This is only necessary for people who no longer have access to the corresponding email connected to their carolinahuddle account. Which is more common than you might think. In that instance you would need to create a secondary email for the huddle and yes you can link it to whatever is your current primary email if you so choose for less hassle. If people having this issue do not wish to go the suggested route that I have provided information on then they will be starting over with a completely new huddle account when that time comes. That is entirely their prerogative. Just trying to be helpful. But no one should be issuing complaints in the future about losing everything if such is the case because solutions have indeed been offered and discussed.

If you still have access to the email account you used to register here, you should be fine.  I just had to change mine because the email associated with my account was literally like 20 years old and I haven't had access to it in over 15 years.

I second proton.me if anyone else is in that situation.  I went there, created an account (make sure to choose the "free" option when prompted), signed in, and then went to my account settings here and changed my email to whatever the account I just made was.  Got the confirmation email, followed the directions, and now the email associated with my account here is one I have access to.

The only issue is that, if you don't remember your password for the Huddle, you'll be asked for it when you attempt to update your email.  I actually got locked out of my account for a minute because I had a brain fart and forgot what it was.

I tried to switch email to a gmail account and I never got the confirmation link. same issue I had before when signing up intitially

Yup, there's plenty of political dumpster fires online, there's no shortage of them.  I personally don't see the need for it on a SPORTS fan board.  If a thread needs to be locked because it gets out of hand, so be it.  That's what the mods are for. Moving it to a septic tank of a subforum so the pissing match can continue is pointless.  We may lose 4-6 posters if the Tender Box is shut down permanently, but the entire board would be better for it.
