Who is the scariest team in the league??

There are 4 10+ win teams in the league:

Titans

Giants

Panthers

Steelers

If you had the choose the one team you don't want to have to play for your life who would it be? To me its the Steelers. After that come from behind win against the Cowboys, I am convinced that the Steelers are the best team in the league. They are finding ways to win without great QB play (even tho Ben can scorch a secondary on any given day) and no running game. Their defense has almost singlehandedly put them at the top of the league, not to mention we match up terribly against them...Ben is a more apt QB when it comes down to it than either Eli or Collins and the Giants lost Plax which makes me fear their receiving corp not at all.

Our run D is up and down but as of late against pretty good competition we have been good at keeping teams out of the endzone.

Our pass D I used to think was the strongest part of our defense but we have been exploited the last couple of games.

When it comes down to it I just don't like the idea of Pittsburgh sending the house down on Jake and making him toss it up for grabs with Troy Polamalu out there to take advantage of it...

Polamalu is the scariest player in the league. Other than that, I don't care who we play, let's just play...

It is not the Steelers. Without romo giftwrapping that game for them, they would be 9-4. They have a dominant D, but their offense is pretty anemic. Running game is not up to their usual standards and the OL is pretty weak....Big Ben running for his life.

Giants are the most complete team....great running game and nasty D.

I think we have a running game to match the Giants, but their D is a notch above...more from their DC and scheme than anything else.

Anyone who doesn't say Giants isn't paying close enough attention.

They have the best quarterback, who defeated one of the best teams ever last year under pressure and has only gotten better.

They are proven road warriors.

They are motivated....got rid of Shockey, got rid of Strahan, got rid of Plaxico....the egomaniacs and troublemakers are gone.

They have a solid coach....Coughlin did a terrific job in Jacksonville and he's on his game again now in New York.

They are a New York team. Think they aren't going to get any breaks with the calls in the playoffs?

It's funny you should say that because Big Ben's stats this season are almost identical to those of Jake Delhomme. Yet, I doubt many would argue that Jake is better than Eli.

giants when they are firing on all cylinders. i'm not sure that they will be the rest of the season. this coming week should tell if they are on a downward spiral or if the eagles game was a fluke.

i have a feeling that we will face them twice this year and split. i would rather lose the first game. if we keep it close i will feel better about it.

if dallas lived up to it's potential it could be the best but with the lack of character and leadership they are most likely to be a bust instead of the best.

titans are beatable. i like our defense against their offense. if it weren't for the AFC being so weak they wouldn't have near the record they now have.

'08 steelers = '06 bears.

suffocating defense....poor offense. only thing is steelers have a little better running game but not the return threat that the bears had in hester. you put that team down by a couple TDs and they aren't going to have the offensive power to come back. only hope they have is in completely shutting down opposing offense. great strategy unless you let a couple slip through the cracks.

panthers.....by far the most unpredictable. that makes them dangerous. just not the most dangerous.

Eli also doesn't have the escapability and improvisation that Ben possesses...when you get pressure on him he goes down like his big brother. Another thing is that Eli is throwing to a group of No. 2 and 3 receivers. Their number 1 receiver right now is either Hixon or Toomer, neither of which scare me.

I think Ed Reed is probably the scariest player on defense in the league. He's always been that way, but just now is getting some publicity. Has sure hands, can strip the ball, and has straight up athleticism to take a turnover the other way for 6 points. Reminds me a lot of Sean Taylor.

Man I miss watching that guy play.

    • Oh good lord Interest doesn't mean interest in making a bad trade to take the player, that's why I had such a long post, to accurately describe why those are two different things, but you don't like to listen to that stuff.  Being interested in a player doesn't live in a vacuum. It's very simple... there isn't a #1 draft pick type of grade on any of these QB's, if there was, we'd just take them.  You can't bluff a pick everyone knows you won't make, and trying to trade the pick is the CLEAR signal that you're not taking the QB. Just because the Raiders would have interest, doesn't mean they're going to bail us out of a situation we don't want to be in, they'd be smart about it and just sit put, let us take a non QB as we'd be telling the world we're not taking one just by trying to trade the pick, and then they'd take him at #2 (either with their own pick or by trading less to get that one). Oh, and your point of "if nobody is willing to make the trade, you obviously just take the best QB" is quite literally the dumbest thing I've ever read on here. If nobody is willing to trade up to take the QB, then it's OBVIOUS that the QB isn't worth taking with that pick, so OBVIOUSLY taking the best QB there is just OBVIOUSLY stupid and a bad pick. The moral of it is if there is a QB worth taking, we're taking them and not making the trade.  If there isn't a QB worth taking there, nobody is trading up to #1 to take one, we just showed the NFL how bad of an idea that is 2 years ago, it's really not hard to see. You keep making up this mythical situation where there is a QB who has shown to be worth trading up to #1 for and we'll be able to leverage that into a trade.  But we're the most QB needy team in the league, if we end up with the #1 pick, either we are taking a QB #1 or no QB is going #1 unless we get VERY lucky and two teams in the Top 5 fall in love with one prospect and we can play them off each other and fleece one of them. But again, I can't see that happening, as if there was a QB worthy of that, we're just taking him ourselves.
    • Sanders is with Tom Brady brand and that's his mentor. The Raiders owner was with Sanders taking pics at a Vegas game together.   It doesn't take much to connect the dots that Vegas will be interested in Sanders as their franchise QB. Oh yeah and guess who hasa small ownership stake in the Raiders Tom Brady.   I guess this is just another made up Madden idea by me huh?
    • Bro I don't mind debating you, but did you really have to write all that to get your point across.   This isn't Madden. If you have the #1 pick you literally control your own destiny. If nobody wants to trade which I have a hard time believing they won't then you obviously take the best QB.   I think we will have suitors. If that's Madden then so be it.
