Zod's OFFICIAL first overall pick selection is....

This thread is useless without pics..........

Actually had a kid in Karate that would do this when I was younger. When he failed at anything, lost a spar against someone, he'd punch himself in the sack repeatedly and I assumed this was punishment put forth by his parents. Sensai would come over and stop him, but once he left he started again. I'd be shocked if he can have kids. He was only like 7 years old too.

Deion Sanders is how it is spelt. Honestly, please tell me your kidding if you think Cam Newton is Peyton Manning...

Haha... first of all, I wasn't talking about Cam... but since you brought it up, let me try and get the point across in a way you might comprehend.

I don't know what Cam will do in the Pros. Neither do you or anyone else.

I don't know what Fairley will do in the Pros. Neither do you or anyone else.

I don't know what Peterson will do in the Pros. Neither do you or anyone else.

We can guess, but no one KNOWS what any of these cats will do.

So if we are going to take arguably one of the best, if not THE best, Cornerbacks in the league to have played the game, and draw comparisons with him to other players in other positions for draft purposes, you HAVE TO compare him to one of the BEST QBs in the league.

Otherwise, you are comparing a known factor (how good DEION Sanders is), to an unknown factor (how good ANY of the draftees MIGHT be). And your whole argument is based on unequal positions and is a strawman.

I like how I made this "whole argument" when I corrected your spelling on Deion Sanders and made only that one post in this thread. I dont believe PP will be Deion Sanders. Cant wait til the draft is over with..I'll be cool if we dont draft PP and take someone else, but there will be 15+ threads if we dont take Cam "Messiah" Newton.

(Insert cornerback name here) can be gameplanned against by throwing to the other side of the field.

This logic is conditional.

If you have a shitty to average corner on the other side then this is a bad thing. If you have an above average to exceptional corner on the other side then you laugh at the gameplanning.

Your right a cornerback can be game planned against, but I agree with this poster that just forces them to throw at Gamble who is no slouch. Plus your also taking a weapon out of the game by putting Peterson on him.

Corner at #1 is most definitely not a "safe" pick. It's never been done.

What does the history of the draft position have to do with the risk/reward factor? I've said since the beginning that the stigma of 'first overall' will influence this pick too much. It's true that a CB has never been picked first but that's going to change soon, if not this year, with how pass happy the league is becoming. Everyone has to realize CB is a much more important position now. While offense can scheme a CB out of a play, they're also scheming one of their own players out, and that a big win for the D if you shadow their best WR.

edit: and now I see my last point was brought up by the 3 previous posters. doh

edit2: and just for the record I'd rather take Dareus/Fairley but I wouldn't be upset with Peterson.

You know this never been done before stuff is retarded. We would still be living in caves with some of you running the world.

Didn't say I wouldn't do it. Said it isn't considered a"safe" because no one ever has done it.

I'd have no problem with them picking Peterson.
