Does everybody here at the very least agree that Clausen sucks?

Awesomeness!!

Not really a fix, but just spicing it up a little bit, Scottie.

Sad, but often true.

So how many pages is this one gonna go? :)

More than it probably should :sosp:

It'd likely take off if someone came in and said keeping Clausen shows the team hates winning

Clausen did suck his rookie year, pretty much everybody did last season. I say we deal with him like the Browns did with Charlie Frye, play him 1-2 games, and if there's no improvement, ship him outta here. I'm willing to give him 2 games, the Browns let CF go after 1 game, first time in NFL history a guy was traded after week 1.

what is funny is that before Clausen stepped on a field......everyone claimed he was in the best situation of any QB drafted in the 2010 draft. Clausen looked flat out pathetic and made everyone around him look horrible by handicapping almost everyone on the field......and NOW the spin is he was in a horrible scenario for a rookie.

Clausen was in a good situation, things changed and good went to bad. Watch the games and look up the IR list. poo happens in the NFL, when everyone around you sucks your going to suck with them.

Spin? Please enlighten me on what was good about the scenario last year.

Before you try, you might want to keep in mind that even the ultra-talented (and good looking too!) Matt Moore didn't look competent. So how was the scenario positive?

The situation was not as good as it was expected to be when he was drafted. We were supposed to have a dominant line, a great running game, and a defense that kept you in games.

Those things really didn't come to fruition except for the running game at the end of the season for him.

On the flipside, those things weren't as bad as they were made out to be. Clausen didn't help the team any when he was playing and showed no signs of ever improving or even showing glimpses that he could one day possibly improve.

The team was supposed to be decent but due to certain unfortunate events, and an owner not willing to fire a coach, we became a bad team that was dragged down to God awful by an equally terrible Clausen.

Moore looked better when he started games than Clausen.

People forget we were in both the NY and TB games, were somewhat in the STL game (30 rush yards?), and won the SF game.

Moore's numbers look worse because of what happened in his non starts in mop up duty.

Clausen might turn out to be a good back up, but definately not a franchise QB. Clausen never showed command in the huddle. He fumbled snaps in practice and in the game which makes him turnover prone. He can barely get the ball over the line without the defensive lineman batiing it down. He just doesn't have "it". I'm no doctor but he started to show signs of the Carr Syndrome. Seriouly, we need a franchise QB and he's not it.

And who worked with the first team in camp and pre season? Who was not a rookie?

Clausen still had the higher QB rating for the year. And it was all mop up duty.
