Warren Moon sees racial bias regarding Cam Newton

People like to cover up the racism but it still exists. With the Mike Vick situation, they want him barred from the Madden cover even after he made redemption. Even Goodell was been unfair with some of his punishments including TD celebration fines

lol because racism is why people hate Mike Vick? lol

I forgot wasn't he one of the more likable QB's and was voted(by the fans) to many pro bowls before some big scandal of some sorts happened in 2007?

and while I don't doubt there are some people out there that are racists and don't like black QBs, for anyone to call the majority of scouts and what have you racists for airing their concerns with his game and his red flags is silly on his part.

like it was stated earlier, cam is a polarizing figure. you love him or you hate him. very few are on the fence.

I can promise you I would feel the same way about Vick if he was white as I do now.

I hope he is rehabilitated but I personally do not forgive as easily as some people... but I also wouldn't block him from returning to work etc.

As to PETA, seriously, PETA.

Mr. Scot, right on cue now me bring in JOAT and TRD....(in my movie director voice)

Well, you should have a preety easy time with the racism quiz I just posted then, shouldn't you?

After all, if Nawrocki is as racist as you think, you should have no trouble figuring out which reviews are of white quarterbacks and which are black ones right?

Unless, of course, you're not confident enough in your argument to try it :D

Where does that question his intelligence? Where does it question his football IQ?

I mean, the biggest complaint about Jimmy was his lack of leadership, and while the "kid with the golden arm" thing was all over the place, the fact is, it seems some of those concerns were legit.

edit: FYI, at the time that was written, Russell was not yet considered a "huge bust" like he is now. He was just not yet successful, but he was still in the league. In fact, he had just completed a season that had some people thinking he'd take an actual step up, because he did get better. He actually had more TDs than INTs! LOL.

I just posted one the other day MAV. It may have even been ESPN that questioned his ability to learn and NFL offense and read NFL defenses. I really wish I had my computer right now. :cuss:

And I compared that with the scouting report of Clausen who was praised for his immense football IQ. Some of that may have had to do with the coaching he received but Freeman should have never been questioned about his intelligence or his work ethic for that matter. He did nothing to warrant that IMO. That is the other stigma put on black QBs... lazy.

I'm not sure you read what the guy actually said. you just bolded the words character, work ethic, and leadership when in that sentence, he said he wasn't sure about all those things with freeman so he would have to look into it more.

he wasn't saying he had bad work ethic or character, just that he wasn't sure about it based on his current (at the time) knowledge

Matt Stafford's Scouting Report

By Matt McGuire

Strengths: Average height, but has great bulk ... Born with a rocket launcher for a right arm ... Throws the ball with a nice, tight spiral consistently ... Puts great touch on fade routes ... Displays a compact release ... Secures the football in the pocket ... Plays in a pro-style offense and is well coached ... Has a lot of experience against top competition as a 3 year starter ... More productive in junior season than he was in past ... Upside warrants a top three pick.

Weaknesses: Drop could be much quicker ... Sluggish footwork at times ... Throws off his back foot more than he should and it leads to poor accuracy ... Puts too much zip on the football on intermediate and crossing routes ... Doesn't sell the play action as well as he could ... Not going to elude pressure in the pocket, but does a decent job of moving the chains with his feet ... Doesn't show an understanding to audible into the correct pass protection or diagnose coverages.

Summary: Coming into his junior season, Stafford was not statistically impressive, but he managed to put together several highly productive games... In an offense without many short and intermediate routes, which is difficult for a quarterback to operate in. His production is impressive considering the offensive system ... The favorite to be taken No. 1 overall.

Player Comparison: Jay Cutler. Both players have rocket arms with the tendency to force throws into double coverage and extremely tight windows.

no questions about their work ethic character or leadership

i don't like black qbs because most of them aren't any good. it's not racism it's a pattern. i also didn't like when the bobcats drafted Adam Morrison due to him being a nonathletic white guy with diabetes.

doesn't mean there aren't any good black qbs or good white basketball players, but it's like taking a short qb. you might get dru brees but you might get the normal short qb who can't get the ball over the line.

well yeah, because neither of them stole a laptop(allegedly), got caught cheating, or had to transfer schools...

you have to understand that there are legitimate reasons why people question Cam's intelligence/character don't you?

don't think he does

if I wasn't so tired I'd go find scouting reports of white receivers to show how ridiculous this whole fuging argument is

I'm outta this thread.
