Which QB would you compare Cam Newton to?

He reminds me of Ben Roethlisberger because of his size and mobility. Also because they both ran a spread offense in college. It is hard to choose because Newton had such a successful season last year.

So who does he remind you of and please do not just put Newton=QB name. I have seen it in so many threads. At least give some support for your comparison/opinion.

newton = newton

if he's going to be successful in this league, he's going to have to make a name for himself and not just be another copycat qb.

I agree but experts are always trying to throw names out there as to who they think the player will best resemble. I hate bringing him up but experts were going crazy about Luck and how he could be the next Manning or even better.

Can't compare him to just one QB he's a mixture of a couple players I see some Big Ben/Josh Freeman in his game with his size, extending plays and cannon of a arm. Don't think another QB runs like him that's why I say Adrian Peterson elusive, fast and powerful/trucking people running the ball.

Cam will be the first Cam if all goes well and he pans out cosign replive

Cam Newton remind me of...

Thomas Edison

Both are falsely viewed as revolutionary figures. Both men's proficiency and ingeniousness have been grossly overstated. And both have gotten to where they are by stealing; Edison stealing the inventions of his contemporaries, and Newton stealing the hearts of America.

I mean just look at that smile. (He's sooo dreamy!)

Cam can only dream of having the agility and speed of AP. His speed is more in line with the faster TEs in the league (excluding Davis), not the faster RBs. I don't know many QBs that came out of college with basically just as many rushing attempts as passing attempts. I guess a bigger but slower and less athletic Joe Webb.

However, those numbers aren't exactly stellar by NFL quarterbacking standards. Even though the Panthers backdoored their way into the postseason in 2025 as NFC South champions with an 8-9 record, Young's performance was up-and-down.
