Hope vs. Reality

While plenty of you have verbally abused one another about what you think is best for the team, have you ever considered a different outcome?

What are your hopes for this draft, if there are any? Are you hoping that a specific player is drafted (ie: Cam Newton), a particular position is drafted (ie: TE), or that somebody isn't drafted (ie: trade down)? What do you think will really happen? Do you think the team will make the decisions you've hoped for, or do you think they'll go in a completely different direction?

Are any of you so confident about what you think will happen, that you're willing to make a friendly wager? I could see hilarity ensuing :willy_nilly:

I hope we set a foundation that eventually leads to a Super Bowl. No matter who we pick. I have my opinions on who that should be. But at the end of the day, I just hope that this draft is the beginning of a brighter tomorrow.

Just think we have to address the most important position, at some point. Tom Bradys just don't grow on trees in late rounds...

What we have done really is not working, rule changes, the NFL wanting scoring for excitement...leads to offense. The longer a team waits, the longer it takes to get that franchise QB, up and running. I preferred Luck, AJ my second choice, then Cam.

QB because we NEED it, AJ because the guy just maybe special.

RR is a defense guy, think he has confidence in himself, to take what he has and keep them in the top 10. The offense needs some serious work at skill positions. Think he sees the overall picture, not the "right now" mentality.

I hope we draft Newton because it will sell tickets and that's all Richardson cares about.

LOL, wow, what a simple view. The guy has the most potential, though not the "safest pick". Course, the people that don't pay the bills always have a high and mighty view. They are doing their due diligence on him, multiple interviews, etc. This is the most important position and a big need...

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft
    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
