Armanti at FB? DO DAT SHEEET.

not actually FB, he wouldn't be out there every down, he'd be an option in the open backfield who could also throw if needed. A good offensive coach can come up with all kind of plays plays with a line up like that.

*Newton

*Edwards *Williams/Stewart:D

All at the same time. How could you stop this?

how would you stop it? the same way they stopped it last year. stack the line of scrimmage, force the QB to make plays with his arm.

Isn't that what a QB is supposed to do?. Newton can make plays with his arm it's proven. He just needs to perfect his fundamentals and study the game like said. Anyway once he makes the play any one of those players is capable of making big plays. Thats all I'm saying.

Clausen, Russell, Leaf, Smith, Leinart all proved they could make plays with their arms.

In college.

How can any offense with a rookie QB be considered the best in the NFL. Sorry, ain't buyin it.

Cam Newton is Cam Newton I thought he made that clear to yall. You boys love taking poo to the extreme. You both know that's away better lineup than what was on the field last season. It's got some pretty good playmakers on it too.

he hasn't proven he can make plays with his arm in NFL games. On top of that, he's not really proven he can consistently make plays with his arm when teams completely shut down his legs. I give him props for doing it against Alabama, but they held him in check for pretty much an entire half. Still, reason to hope he can do it in the NFL too from that game, but I'm a skeptic. While I think he'll learn to do it I'm not sure when that will happen.

Next year anyway the offense would be more dangerous with any number of other NFL quarterbacks, possibly even some of whom will be on this roster and likely to start over him. In the future, though... well, who knows. I hope that future comes to pass if we draft him, heh.

    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
