First Favorite Player

NFL - Lawrence Taylor. He's what got me interested in football.

Panthers - Kevin Greene.

There were so many great players but I liked Joe Namath.

My early favorite Panther was Freddie Lane.

They would try to stop him and he would bounce off and continue running, they would pick him up and his wheels would still be spinning, after he scored, he would do his famous worm dance in the end zone.

My first favorite player was on defense Ray Nitschke offense- John Unitas. I really liked John Mackey. A great line one time as he was carrying 2 guys on his back down the field was that the lucky ones fell off.

For the Panthers it was Mills and then Greene. Greene was one of those guys who if you really needed a sack you just knew he was going to get to the QB one way or the other.

I sure do! He's actually one of my favorites of the first Panthers. Small in stature, but a tuff son-of-a-gun! Out of the originals, I was also a big fan of Lathon, and Mills.

Grew up a Dolphins fan so Dan Marino was my hero.

When the Panthers came along the first season no one stuck out for me. But when they picked up Kevin Greene he quickly grabbed the attention of a 15 year old kid. Eventually I came to be a big fan of a lot of those 96 defenders like Lathon and Mills. But Kevin Greene was my first favorite.
