So for the book readers...I'm kinda seeing it alluded to here a little maybe?

Does Jon become AA in your minds?

I've seen the Night's King theory, but I don't buy him getting to Castle Black in time to "save" him before the body is disposed of. Nor do I really buy him warging into Ghost because then what?  I don't think he stays dead at all...just makes no sense with the foreshadowing, or to introduce a new "rival" to stop the Night's KIng at this point with Dany so far away and yada yada. Or maybe Coldhands (Benjen?!) comes in?  Basically...there's a ton of ways to go with this IMO.  Jon being dead kills that potential.

I would probably take this to the book thread... before someone whines about spoilers and all that...

That said... I'm not sure what happens at this point. I feel like his story isn't over, but maybe it is...

As I understand it he can be brought back by the Night's King as long as they haven't burned the body.

White Walkers may arrive and attack before that happens.

Or maybe Melissandre brings him back to life (but if she could do that why not stay bring back Stannis?)

Or maybe Jon Snow is just dead.  If we know anything it is that we all "know nothing" when it comes to George RR Martin

We can combine the book thread and this one now. Well, maybe not since a new book will drop soon. But still, everyone is at the same place and things that happened in the book will not happen on the show, so feel free to educate show-only people.

For example, from what I've seen online, in the books, the rumor is that Ned's sister got her freak on with Dany's father. That's what caused Robert to go war his ass and steal the throne, because he loved Ned's sister. So Jon is actually the love child of Ned's sister and the Targaryen king ... making him full-blooded, but still a bastard. Ned said Jon was his to most likely keep Robert from killing his sister's love child. So though Jon is of full blood, I don't think he has any right to the throne. For that matter ... does Dany? This is old school stuff where men rule. Dany's brother probably had the biggest right to it, but done got got. The rest of the Targaryen men are dead. Dany's baby died, so he's out. So killing Jon may not be such a big deal since he can't be king and we have no real proof what Martin means by Fire and Ice. Me? I think it means nothing more than dragons versus whitewalkers.

As for Snow being no big deal that he's dead, Kit said "he's not coming back" in his interview. A swerve? Sure ... but that show will be filmed and we will ALL know if he's on set. They can't hide him. Some say "of course he's going to say that" because it'd ruin the cliffhanger of if he's dead. Guess what? There is no cliffhanger. Nothing gave ANY clue that he might not be dead. Jon is dead. Kit said it himself. As for the interview, that could mean many things: Jon Snow is not coming back but Kit is (as some other type character, i.e. Coldhands), Kit is not coming back but Jon Snow is in some other fashion (i.e. Snow as a WW so no need for Kit). My guess? Kit isn't coming back ... for season 6. We'll see the red witch swipe his body in the first episode, then we'll see an entire season of Franken Jon via body double and he'll be back for season 7.

Oh snap ... wait a minute. In the books, I heard Mel switched Mance out for Redbeard of the Wildlings and Mance never got burned at the stake. If she indeed has this power ... though it was never shown on the show ... what if like ... she did that and "Jon Snow" was stabbed to death. I just blew my mind.

Not so fast, partner... There are whole characters and story lines that you don't know about yet if you haven't read the books...

See: the Greyjoys... coming soon in season 6... I hope...

It was Mance and Rattleshirt that were switched... She burned Rattleshirt, but used magic called glamor to make him look like Mance...

Mance shows up later at Winterfell on a rescue mission for what is thought to be Arya... It's really Jeyne Poole... but it doesn't go so well...

What we really need is a thread for the differences in the show and the books, for interested non-book readers...
