At this point it doesn't really matter. Panthers are a couple years away, and if anyone thinks the Panthers are going to make some miraculous playoff run next year they are delusional.

Or high on crack cocaine.

It's possible and teams with less talent have done it before, however the strength of the NFC South makes it mighty tough.

Ok, before anyone else goes all chicken little about this...

We already know who we will play...

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81d70273/article/2011-teambyteam-opponents

Carolina Panthers

Home: Atlanta, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Green Bay, Minnesota, Washington, Jacksonville, Tennessee

Away: Atlanta, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Detroit, Arizona, Houston, Indianapolis

We play the NFC North and the AFC South. We also play Arizona and Washington.

The other teams in our division will also play the NFC North and AFC South, and a team from Arizona and Washington's division.

Now... one VERY IMPORTANT piece to this...

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth/pos...rdest-schedule

(credit to Phil Dees for linking above)

So why do the last-place Panthers end up with the toughest schedule? Well, they can thank the rest of the NFC South for that. The Saints, Bucs and Falcons all had double-digit wins and each of them counts twice as an opponent because they’ll play the Panthers twice.

We have the toughest schedule, because we are in the toughest division. It won't change much because of that.

correct me if I am wrong but carolina did make it to the NFC championship year 2 right? Also went 7-9 after a 1-15 season. So its entirely possible, you dont have to be high on cocaine to look at whats already been done in the past.

We can count on drafting #1 again in 2012 and Luck will

be there looking at us. Count on it, it will happen.

With an O-coordinator that has any sense we would have won 5 games last year - no way we repeat last year's performance.

4-12

You heard it here first.

new coaching staff, lots of holes and about to spend #1 pick on someone who is not likely to play much next year, with no second rounder.

3-11, we will be in position to draft Luck or Barkley next year. If we draft newton, better hope he shows promise and someone gives a 1st for him next year when we draft Luck

You're not wrong in your statement, but you are wrong in your assessment of my post. I think the Panthers will be better than they were last year. But not by much.

I said a "couple years" which usually means two. Panthers are at least two years away, but parity does rain supreme in the NFL so it would not surprise me to see the Panthers good again in three MAYBE two years.....but be honest with your self man. No QB, aging superstars, and a entirely new coaching regime, and arguably the most competitive division in the NFL.:)

Don't get it twisted, I hope they prove me wrong, but like I said earlier...

1. No QB

2. Aging superstars

3. Shaky oline

4. New coaching staff

5. hard, competitive division

I don't see it.

I'd also be interested to hear your teams with less talent that have "done it before."
