Panthers 3rd round pick

Keep in mind we have the last pick on day 2 and the first pick on day 3. Any of the guys below could possibly fall 10 picks or so to us at pick 65. If Hurney targets any of them he could easily move up into the late second and get one by trading the first pick on day 3 (added value), or we just wait and pick whoever is left.

My prefs

Chimde Chekwa, CB, Ohio State (injured hand has to check out)

Terrell McClain, DT, S. Florida

Jarvis Jenkins, DT, Clemson

Cameron Jordan, TE, USC (prefer Housler, Green, Oordt in later rounds instead)

Greg Salas, WR, Hawaii

Colin Kaepernick, QB, Nevada

Stefen Wisniewski, OC/OG (not small like Kahlil), Penn St.

even "3-4 elements" DE/OLB Sam Acho could be there

all are in play depending on the first pick

why are so many people posting we draft a te in the third? is no one aware of our need at CB. No way we should draft a te before the 6th this year. with the signing of shockey and with gary and rasario and king on the team for now i don't see the need.

Because our Coaching staff clearly stated they dislike our TE situation and I don't think Shockey is a long term fix. Am I aware of other needs? Yes thus my disclaimer.

I really like D tackles Jarvis Jenkins of Clemson and Drake Nevis of LSU (Guy is a high second round talent whose is projected for the 3rd, if you saw the LSU/BAMA game this year he made you say Darreus who? I also really like DJ williams TE Arkansas or Lance Kendricks TE Wisconsin.

    • I hope you understand that this Anti Bryce thing as you call it is really a pro Panthers thing. I think I can safely use we. We want the best for the Panthers.  As far as this other post saying ‘Anti’ Bryce people do misinformation.. you mean like going all in on “Renfro should have caught” that poorly thrown ball? I guess it was week 1. And calling it a drop. Comical btw.  I wonder, did you call that out or let it slide because it aligned with your agenda?
    • These are great posts with the comparisons and the numbers.   I haven’t lookyat Smity’s numbers since probably the first time he was on the ballot.  But if you watched every week you know what he is. Whatever his yardage or targets numbers were.  He was fuging dominant. I have watched since the AFL days and seen who there is to see. There are many great WRs over the years. GREAT WRs. Smitty is up there in the game of football.
    • Smith is clear cut HOF if you judge what he did by reception. Fitzgerald was a stat padder.    The most Steve Smith was ever targeted in his career was in 2005 (150 targets). The same year he wins the triple crown.    Larry Fitzgerald was targeted more than 150 times over 9 separate seasons. Not once eclipsing 1500 yards in a season.    The over glazing of Larry Fitzgerald going around is way over blown. ARZ was top 10 in passing attempts nearly his entire prime. Steve Smith and Andre Johnson had it far worse and would have surpassed his #s in the same situation.
