Yes, but look at previous years, they've had defensive talent popping up in the first three rounds consistently. They had 3 players (all defense) go in the top 65 just last year. And Mike Jenkins went in the first round the year before that.

They've certainly tapped into some of the South Florida talent - mainly thanks to Randy Shannon's ineptitude.

That's about to stop though.

As for McClain. I don't like the pick. He's, at best, bang average.

Ive never seen him play, but judging that he was a guy who COULD have been picked in the 2nd rd and was picked right about where the "experts" thought, I dont mind this pick.

We need DTs badly, and judging by his videos and scouting report, he ISNT Corvey Irvin part two! Solid pick in a position of need. This pick will look even better if they follow up with Ellis or Nevis.

I didn't hear that, the main concerns I heard about JPP was that he was a project due to only playing one year in South Florida. If being in a small school was an issue for him, then it would be mentioned with every other Big East player. I know the Big East is down, but they're still a BCS conference.

But whatever, we both think that it is a good pick, so we're arguing semantics.
