Any room for Favre or Moon as a player coach?

Favre = Never, he isn't even one of the smarter qb's

Moon = I wouldn't be opposed but it would never happen

i would be opposed by both. Favre wont help much and like this poster wrote he's not one of the smarter QBs and i am not a fan of Moon, he annoyed me with his racism quote. i wanted Jeremy Bates as the QB coach, but maybe Shula will surprise us.

And as much as I like Moon, I'm hoping he keeps his mouth shut and doesn't publicly second guess how the Panthers handle Newton.

Good luck with that. Honestly, this is the type of poo I was worried about when they drafted him. He's going to have a flock of people around him that is going to do nothing but provide extra baggage for the Panthers. If he sucks, it's going to be the coaches or team's fault. If he doesn't start, it's going to be b/c he is black. If he has a good game, people are going to label him the second coming. Not to mention Warren Moon is going to be giving the panthers his best Al Sharpton/J. Jackson impersonations.

I don't know what it is about Cam. To call him "polarizing" is an understatement. I honestly can say that I don't ever recall a first overall draft pick with such a contrast in public/media opinion (and attention).

Fwiw, it doesn't seem that players who were very good at their position turn into good coaches. Usually, its the ones who had to work a lot harder to be good that make the better coaches. I think that Delhomme will have a better shot at being a good coach someday than Favre.

Charlie Joiner says hello.....

All kidding aside, I agree with that.

The ones that it came natural to have a hard time coaching those that don't get it so easily.

Lets give Shula a chance to see what he can do. We picked him because he was an explayer who comes from a coaching line where dinner conversation was about quarterbacks and Xs and Os. I am looking forward to what he can do with all of our quarterbacks. They might not be as bad as they looked last year. Plus he is a good teacher. We might not need a vet to mentor them when we have a past vet who can mentor them in Shula.

I hope we can find a starter in the bunch if we don't get lucky in free agency.

Favre has tons of experience, no doubt about it. If he were to come in as a mentor I wouldn't mind it. He has the ability to teach Cam or Jimmy some lessons and give them some pointers.

I also heard that he isn't done, again. If he were alright with being a backup on a roster I would say sign him if he can be paid reasonably. If he is just looking for a place to still be involved with football then I think we could fit him in.

Favre wont want to be a backup, his ego is too large.
