Boycott

Recommended Posts

I am a huge fan of football and it would kill me to do this but I think everyone involved with this lockout should be punished for their greed, so I say when and if the season begins that every fan of their respective teams should boycott for the first six games. No watching games, no going to games, and no buying team appearal. If this was to happen than they would stand to lose a ton of money and maybe next time they would think twice about being so greedy next time. Show these people who the real boss is. THE FANS!

I'll boycott the Panthers.

Right after I buy Smitty and Cam's signed jerseys..

.. and my 4 season tix..

and the Sunday Ticket..

..ooh almost forgot my SiriusXm radio re-up so I can get my NFL channel.

and Madden 2012.

THEN I'll be ready to boycott..

I have thought about this in depth and will not give you poo about it, because honestly, if a bunch of football fans band together, we can really do some damage by boycotting football for some time. however, I do not believe that enough people would take it seriously and commit to hitting the owners and players where it counts, their wallets.

I know I for one am down for doing this if the lockout keeps rolling. I will not watch football for x amount of weeks. I do think 6 is a bit steep, do it for 1 or two weeks and prove that you mean business and then maybe they will think twice about pulling this crap.

Well I have already paid for my tix so the only person that would hurt is me, not JR. Boycott all you want but season ticket holders can't without losing their @$$.

If we don't have football in September....I am cool. Still warm enough to boat, fish, and dive.

October.....still and doing OK as it's still warm enough to be outside.

November through Feb. and I will start freaking out. The days will be shorter, it will be nasty out, and too cool to dive or fish on my off days.

IMO the players will be too broke to not play in October, but that's just my opinion.

if we miss games i might be upset. unless i'm mistaken, we usually don't have any games at this point in time.

only thing that has been missed has been a couple practices which is nothing that can't be made up so that there is no football missed. it will put pressure on the players, but that isn't unique to the panthers.

    • This is a very fair concern, but the eagles and rams have the #1 and #2 ranked olines. They did that while also paying their QBs. Keeping good players around BY (at a reasonable cost), is a Dan Morgan problem.
    • He’s basically a decoy, and not a very good one at that as defenses know the ball is almost never going his way. In this, it’s hard to overstate just how important Coker is.
    • I'm going to say this, because it happens to a lot of young guys that get drafted high each year. If they've never had anything, and suddenly find themselves getting checks for a couple of hundred thousand dollars per week, they don't know what to do with it or don't know how to handle turning this into a career. I think  XL might be one of those guys. He desperately needs someone to sit down with him, explain what being a selected star and then having to take the secondary receiver role means and how to turn that into a long, meaningful career. If Muhsin Muhammad could spend some times with him, Xavier might get this straightened out and become a contributor. He's got the skills, he's got the physicals, his brain just isn't into it and I question the maturity.
