Panthers release Hackett, Bridges, Goings

I think he still has some good football left in him. but i dont blame em for cutting him

nothing here really surprised me. I expected Goings to be cut along with Hackett and Bridges.

i think we should have stuck with Hackett..i see him going to a team in need of a good # 2 or 3....

It would be interesting to see if Seattle picks him back up, considering their dearth of wide receivers.

Yeah, all he ever did was bring it 100% every day, did everything he was asked to do, worked his ass off for a backup/ST role, and was a model NFL player wrt work habits and attitude. We don't need clowns like that.:sosp:

will it be a younger RB who wants to make plays and be involved in the offense?

or will it be a another HB/FB hybrid kind of guy that is a jack of all trades but a master of none?

Super happy to see Hackett go, I've been wanting him cut since he couldn't get out of the locker room during camp last year. I didn't like the signing and I think he proved himself as advertised....injury riddled.

Not surprised by Bridges, and honestly I like the move. Make sure prospective players know we have a character standard around here you need to conform to if you want to stick around. He fell off after his first year with us anyway.

Hate to see Going's go, but I completely understand the move. I'd be a little surprised to see him get picked up early in FA, so who knows...if he wants to keep playing maybe he comes back closer to camp time for cheaper...

Think they wil pick a FB up in the draft. They should have last year.

I don't like losing Bridges even though he had issues, I love having good O-line depth. We really really NEED to sign Hangman now.

Schwartz must be making some pretty good progress. He and Hangartner should be solid or we can always put a tender on Hangartner and if someone signs him we can go to the draft and get someone...

I hate to see Goings have to go as well, but it just seemed he wasn't the same after those concussion issues. He just didn't seem to have "It" anymore. I wish him the best though.

Feel a little sad about Goings. He has always been a hardworking and loyal teammate ready to do what has been asked from him. I guess age plays part in this to.

No surprises here. Goings did pretty well for himself considering his talent. Bridges won't be unemployed for long.
