Plaxico?

Randy Moss? Not sure his situation is comparable at all.

I never liked the guy even before he went to the NYG, but put Maclin, D Jackson, and a 6' 5" Plaxico on the field all while defenses have to worry about containing Vick ???....all I am saying is I think he would do rather well in that situation. Is he a good fit for most teams? Probably not. St. Louis is an interesting fit for him also.

yeah, in theory putting Randy Moss on the field causes all those problems and more.

some guys at a certain points are known time bombs with very short fuses.....it is only a matter of how soon does Plax start being a problem.

my only point is that type WR has no place on a team like Carolina.

you're forgetting jason avant. dude is one of the best slot receivers in the league and the most reliable receiver on the eagles...probably one of the most reliable in the league. plax isn't going to take snaps away from any of jackson, maclin, and avant.

plax would be the #4 receiver there. no need for him. seriously can't see why people are talking about there being interest.

him thriving there? won't happen unless you are talking about >45 recps, >500 yards, and >4 TDs thriving.

Don't think we need Plaxico. He has been out of the NFL two years, he had trouble when he was playing with the Giants, his whole history says not too think about picking him up.

Sure, he might catch a few TD's, but the other issues outweigh the positives.

Plus, Carolina cleaned house. They are young, and probably look to keep it that way. Build through the draft, sign stand-up, solid FA's who have good character and no issues. Plaxico doesn't fit the Carolina Panthers, so it will most likely be no.

He is a Michigan State man, I say, give him a shot.

Give him a 2 year incentive laden contract so if he does not work out, nothing much is lost.

Now whether or not he would come here is another matter. If he is still competitive and driven, he will want to win and show people he has changed. Ex teammates are saying good things about his talent a work ethic. Who is to say he will not be a changed man and play lights out?

Imo, he is worth the gamble. But I would not stop at Burress where it came to adding a vet WR. I would definately beat the bushes for an upgrade, at least as a stop gap until our young WR corps grows up.

Just my thoughts, and GOOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is something to be said for a guy on the rebound who has had some serious time to reflect.

That said I am still not sure he is the guy we are looking for.

\

Not trying to say he is the end all. Just saying that for the right price, he could be a nice fit. He very well could be the shot in the leg our young WR corps needs.

Shot in the leg, get it?? Hee hee

Seriously, I would beat the bushes and shake the trees to see who falls into our lap. Although I would not sign just any WR that fell at our feet. Talent and a team first attitude is what I am looking for. And hopefully Rivera is looking for the same things.

GOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!

Sutton is always on twitter talking about religion, that's why I said that.

I would say religious.. agnostic means you believe in something but do not have the capacity to know what that is or show proof.

I would be an agnostic. it's not about believing in something, it's that no religion can be called "the most correct" because no religion has the capacity to prove as such..

Sutton has shown that he questions everything. You would know this if you were a regular reader, or saw his questionable rant on Christianity and it being a cult. Regardless, I used the term correctly, it's just only a select few of you would understand what I was getting at.

What I really think happened is that you got called out, then frantically stalked his facebook/twitter/myspace to make you look like a philosophizer.

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
