Cam Newton's Potential: The Greatest Athlete in American Sports

Matthias

Cam Newton can be our Michael Jordan of football, and because football is the greatest american sport at the moment, Cam can be the greatest athlete in US sports! Had Cam ran a pro-offense at Auburn, he would already have this title coming in, but this is his potential. By now, we all know Cam Newton will be starting day one as long as he doesn't look terrible in pre-season play. (If we play the pre-season) I'm getting excited to see this kid play.:D

Yes.......the MJ of Football cause no one wants to be the Kobe of any sport unless........ you're Ben Roethlisberger.

Kobe will be the closet to reach MJ status, but make no mistake Kobe is no Jordan. Jordan is a real basketball GOAT. James isn't even in the mix.

You are entitled to your opinion...

By the way... It SUCKS!!!

Kobe is/was great... But in about oh... Say 4 more years when Lebron has 5 you'll be eating those words. Last time I checked Lebron can play the 1 spot all the way to the 5. WAY better than Kobe! Kobe has more years in the league, that's all he has on Lebron... He'll get his rings.

As for Cam... I'm high on him... Potential to be the Jordan of football? Sure I guess

I probably have just about the same chance of fuging Jennifer Love Hewitt tonight

That was a fun thread to read, lol. Or I am totally bored. As for crowning Cam the best off of one season at Auburn is.. mind-boggling.

I hope he can live up to peoples expectations. If will take a better team around him to do so!

I didn't say the best. I said the most exciting. He lead Auburn from behind to win in 9 games. Most of those were in the 4th quarter and in 3 of those games Auburn was behind by double digits. The guy is a playmaker and he hates to lose.

    • That makes me wonder, how many starting tackles in the NFL and/or elite tackles have short arms? I feel like there’s probably lots of tackles that end up being drafted in later rounds because they had short arms or didn’t have the physical tools.     also why not draft a tackle in the later rounds that we could move to guard or center if they fail, instead of drafting a center? If we draft a center we know they aren’t going to play tackle but if you draft a tackle they could end up playing any of the 3 positions, look at BC for example. It feels like it’s a better decision to draft a tackle in later rounds than a center.
    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
