The Annual Midnight Vigil

I guess you failed to look at the teams we were playing those weeks. All 3 had good rushing offenses.

I'm not saying he's the greatest player ever. I just think he does what he's asked to do. Paired with another starting caliber DT, I think our defense would see a lot of improvement. Kemo, in my opinion, does a pretty good job of taking up space so that Beason doesn't get smacked with as many blocks right off the bat. Is he perfect? Not by any means.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. :P

I think what smithers means is that kemo is more of a situational guy rather than a 3 down lineman, to that I agree. He's wrong about his ability level though, kemo had his best season this year and really played up to his potential as a run stuffer, we were lost without him.

Lewis is also not a guy i want out there on every down.

What we need on the line is more talent, period.

We need quality back ups that aren't old injury riddled vets or undrafted rookies. A quality rotation would go a long way to fixing our problems.

We need a rock in the middle, a dependable starter that can rush the passer and stop the run. A playmaker.

That is my main point...We need more talent. I never said cut Kemo, I said we need an upgrade. I firmly believe that a platoon style D-line is the best. The Giants mastered that technique. Getting a more versatile pass rusher to play in situational downs to replace Kemo, and a better run stopper to step in beside Kemo to replace Lewis on running downs...is what this team needs. That is what I mean by an upgrade.

Kemo is a situational DT...as is all run stuffing DT's. On obvious passing downs, Kemo came out....slid Brayton to DT with Lewis....and brought in Johnson.

this actually didn't happen very often at all, especially in the second half of the season.

go back and watch the season. in the second half, teams started slaughtering us going to a hurry up pass after a run play.
