Cassell can't play in Fox's offense this year as well as Jake. Our offense doesn't matchup well w/ Cassell's strength's and weaknesses and Fox offense will not change. It would make no sense. Offensively we are fine. We need a defense. The offense put up the points. We need some D and some better schemes. Cassell for Peppers is laughable imo. Jake will give you 2-3 bad Jake games a year....we are just overracting b/c one of those was our last game of the season. You really think Cassell would lead us to a better year offensively than what Jake did? No way. No other QB imo will get as much out of Smitty as Jake, imo.

No way should Cassel get that kind of money. We do need a QB, but we have some serious defensive line issues. It's hard to think about trading a defensive end when we're already thin across the d.line and not at least getting some picks to address that need. Cassel looks like he will be a good QB, but if we don't stop the run and get pressure on the QB, we won't win very many games no matter who our QB is.

So Panthers will be trading 2nd pick over all to Pats for a 7th round QB that could be no more than a good QB in the PAT's system
