I see us making a splash with a WR

I know many on this site see Gettis, LaFell or Smith being adaquate but I see us going after someone with polished route running skills that has that ability to get open.I think Smith if he stays will move to the slot.

adequate is not a word I want used for #1 receiver. I don't see how we don't try to make a move once a CBA is reached.

Rice would be great. I'd be ecstatic to see Santonio Holmes signed. (based on if the coaching staff thinks he's done getting kicked off planes and such)

I dont see the jets letting Holms go nor do I see the Vikings letting Rice go.We may have a shot at either V Jackson or M Floyd.I also like James Jones and B Edwards may be availible but I am not as sold on him as I am James jones

There is no way we cut Armanti after one year, no way we don't give the dude from a Hawaii a shot, Gettis, LaFell are locks....that's already 4, if we keep Smith that's 5- and you expect us to sign a big name?

I'm all for going after Zach Miller, and would be happy if we were able to get a guy- but I can't see us overpaying for a James Jones

We are either going balls to the wall and trade Smitty and go after V-Jax or Rice

or are going to try and persuade Smith for one last year and stick with developing our young guys

knowing the panthers I am saying option number two is 98 percent more likely

With the exception of Rice and Holmes, that is a whole mess of mediocre receivers who will soon be overpaid.

Braylon Edwards

Steve Smith (NYG)

Malcom Floyd

Lance Moore

James Jones

Mike Sims-Walker

Santana Moss

Steve Breaston

non of these guys are really average. all of them are capable of putting up some great numbers and most of them have proven it.

santana moss is a bit older than i would like, but still he's got a couple years left and he had a great year last year.

braylon edwards has been improving his play every year and drops aren't a problem for him anymore. put him back with the OC that he had his break out year and you will likely see more of them.

malcom floyd has a lot of talent and is a big receiver very familiar with chud and his offense.

lance moore and steve smith are both very good slot receivers.

james jones is a star in the waiting

mike sims walker has a ton of talent, although he's got a bit of an attitude.

i'd rather have rice or holmes than any of these guys, but any one of them would be a huge upgrade...esp. if smith gets traded. if he does, i can see us going after two of these guys. seriously.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
