What about Cam will revolutionize the game?

The fact is the first time Cam stumbles there will be a lot of people that will go from calling him a god to calling him poo. Newton is going to be a player that will have ups and downs in his first year for sure and a lot of people will not be able to handle that.

I think you might agree with this. Cam is outstanding at moving the chains. And in crunch time, he is particularly so.

I don't know why people need to feel he's the biggest, smartest, fastest, bestest thrower, blah blah blah. He moves the chains, and that's what you need. Right?

Never heard that arguement being made....

I just said there was no one significantly ahead of him in 2010 and 2009 draft class when they were coming out.....I mean it takes a lot of spin to take that comment and pretend someone is claiming he is a HOF lock.

I am not prepared to say that Sanchez is light years ahead of Cam when they each came out as far as a passer is concerned. Cam is a much better passer than you give him credit for TRD. And he has the pieces in place mechanically to improve in a relatively short amount of time IMO.

Stafford and Bradford were way ahead of Cam in terms of being able to pass the ball but if Sanchez was ahead of Cam it wasn't by much IMO.

But it is my opinion that Cam has certain intangibles (like his unique physique and mobility) that he could end up being a much more productive offensive player than Sanchez, Stafford, or even Bradford. Possibly as soon as next year.

You play this game of making strong general statements and demanding specifics from people who disagree with them....

I think I'm going to go back to tuning you out.

It never ceases to amaze me how many bright guys on here use stats to back their points without the context of the stats in the first place. I know most of you have been introduced to the concept several times. I dont expect you all to get it, but at least the ones who are on here trying to make valid points.

This is why a intelligent troll like TRD can make short work of any argument you give. If you wanna talk stats, that's fine, but there better be some context. Otherwise youre just talking bullshit. This is what the "experts" at espn do. Check their top 100 list, do you agree with it? Go check any ranking list and tell me what its based on. Factual statistics, yep their factual alright. Certain variables will make those stats pointless, but their factual.

The original post was what would make him revolutionary? And the answer is nothing. Nothing will make him revolutionary because the offenses have already been created and tested and in some cases work very well. Now, Cam might be able to execute said offenses better, not sure, but it wont be revolutionary. The OP is looking for credibility in the statement made before the draft by several over-zealous fans.

Unfortunately, it will take awhile to sift through several tarded comments before you can get to the good stuff from some these guys that know their poo.

did you not just make a strong general statement claiming people were saying stuff about Cam that has never once been implied in this thread? I mean in the post you just replied the above post with?

I made a statement.....and I supported it by stating Cam was a more efficient passer than Sanchez (looking at comp%, TD/INT raitio, yards per pass, etc) and did so aganist what is considered tougher competition (divisions).

The person was the one making the argument someone was signficantly ahead.....if they are gonna pimp someone they should provide more support when all the numbers favor the other guy

Bottom line is, I don't see how you can pimp he was signicantly better....when Cam was more efficient as a passer, against better competition, with a weaker supporting cast.

You don't see how the system one is in can make a difference? You still think comparing the SEC from last year to the PAC10 of years ago is a valid comparison? You ignoring the fact that the PAC10 had the 10 strongest SOS this season.

According to Sporting News, Mark Sanchez's SOS was ranked 5th, and if Virginia had been better that season it would have been first. Many rank Auburn outside of the top 10 this year.

He might be better than I give him credit for but he is worse than most of you give him credit for. He's likely somewhere in between.

Also, how can his physique be an intangible? Isn't it by definition, tangible?

Saying he'll be more productive than those other guys next year is the kind of silly stuff that used to send me over the edge.

Coming out of college, Mathew Stafford had NFL written all over him. Big, strong, hand cannon, played in a pro style, play-action offense for 3 years. That's about as good as it gets, yet he has some of the worst luck I've ever seen.

I disagree. He was a stretch at #1 overall. He wasn't even considered a round 2 pick until his big final couple of games at UGA. He's a tough son of a bitch but it looks like luck is not going to be on his side.
