Rookie QB in Best Situation

NFL Total Access talking about this now.. their general breakdown consists of:

(Mayock) Jake Locker: best friend of a rookie QB is a run game, so he looks for a running game. Locker athletic, and anytime CJ2k is in backfield he has a chance. Also, points out Ponder for the same reason.

(Wilcots) Christian Ponder: above-average D, above-average line, and AP in the backfield.

(Baldy) Blaine Gabbert: sitting the bench. Able to sit behind Garrard.

then the question is asked why Cam isn't mentioned. They point to us going 2-14.

Honestly, I don't think we are that far off from the rest of those teams. Above average D, above average line, 2 thoroughbreds behind center, if our WRs step up as this fanbase thinks then we have that, the difference between '11 and '10 for me? hopefully a coaching staff who has a clue..

Those are old episodes bro, I watched that same segment last week. None of these guys will no where the carolina panthers came from this year... Isn't that the way we like it though?

hell no. I want high expectations. I don't believe in that under the radar bullshit. at some point you make it on the radar and I don't think those people can handle the spotlight..

If the media "experts" say something, it's generally a great idea to think the opposite.

truth..

The Big Cat said of last year's team..."We had the worst record but we did not have the worst players."

I agree.

The 2011 Panthers will be a better team than the media thinks...or maybe wants.

    • Some fun facts on last nights game.
    • I was reading through the thread seeing if someone would mention this. This is exactly what the Canes are doing and Tripp Tracy alluded to it on the Spittin Chiclets podcast when he said Taylor Hall was our Sam Bennett. The Canes and Panthers have always played identical with the main difference being Florida toes the line between physical and dirty. The Canes have stepped up the physical play this year and are inching closer to that line of physical and dirty. If I’m being honest, as a Montreal fan I wouldn’t love the fact that the Canes seem to be targeting Hutson but as a Canes fan I love it because this is what you have to do in the playoffs. Unfortunately for Montreal they aren’t an overly physical team outside of Anderson and Xhekaj; only the Avs, Stars, and Sabres average less hits per game than Canadians in the playoffs. The Canadians can still make this a series if they stop playing scared and turning the puck over simply because they are getting elite goaltending while the Canes are getting average goaltending but if the Habs continue to play with the yips and either Andersen steps up or Dobes regresses then this series could end in five.
    • I guessed Andy Reid too on that Price is Right. As if I had any idea….
