Iphone vs Droid

Which should I get? I have an allowance from my job to upgrade my phone and plan...I'm a Mac person so I'm leaning Iphone, but the Droid is cheaper and seems to offer similar features. What are some opinions? I mainly want it for accessing the internet and my email while I'm out and about, etc

It comes down to the keyboard for me. I don't know if I can own a phone where the touchscreen is the ONLY option. I'm sure I'd get used to it and may even like it more, but having a keyboard is sort of a crutch for me.

And I use a BlackBerry but recognize they're losing a lot of ground to Android phones and the iPhone

I would choose the iPhone. I'm getting one soon. I have personally had bad experiences with both Droid phones I have had. The operating system has always been prone to error on my phones. Half the screen disappears, text messaging threads freeze up, touch screen doesn't function, and a lot of delays.

Now, I seem to be the only person that has really had consistent problems like these that I know of. I'm just worn out on Droid.

I'm switching soon from an iphone to a droid mostly because I want to write apps for it and you have to have a mac to code for an iphone(I also don't want to learn a new programming language to do it).

Overall, comparing my phone to my co-workers droid, his is much faster and better in almost everyway.

I'm old fashioned .. I just bought this earlier today to replace my Altell LG Scoop thats screen was dead from years of use.

Samsung-Intensity-2-cell-phone-Verizon.jpg

Called the Intensity 2 .. got it for 85 bucks with a 50 dollar rebate I can mail in

Camera , Video camera , Slide out keyboard with Relatively Big keys not like the pooty blackberry , No touch whatsoever .. can convert any sound to a ringtone .. That's enough for me.

I went from Blackberry to a Droid X and initially had the same reservations about an on screen keyboard but the screen is big enough on this phone that it's not an issue.

If you do go iPhone definitely stay away from AT&T and go Verizon.

There are some seriously cool droid phones coming out and if you live in a 4G area it is worth it to get a 4G phone.

Funny enough, I was having this same conversation with a friend today. So I got home and checked my Verizon account and turns out I'm eligible for an upgrade. Do you use Swype to type on your Droid X? What phones should I keep an eye out for?

    • ^I want that, but Rodriguez over KC. Don't hate KC as much at that spot, but rather take a WR with the pick we gain in that trade than in the 1st.
    • I think there is good points in this thread to what the team needs to do. 1) Ball isn't really the issue but, he needs reigned in.  Coach and he need to realize when things aren't falling from the three and learn to play other facets of the game.  He's an amazing talent and when he's on, he's on.  But he can also shoot you out of a game.  We're lucky Miami went that way but that is too many missed threes.  He still needs to bulk up if he can, but he needs to drive more.  He's pretty good at finishing usually and hopefully the fouls come (probably not though).   2) The whole team needs to be more physical.  As others have stated, we need more bulk in our bigs.  Diabate is a hurricane of energy but cannot go against the larger centers.  I love him on the team but he should be more of a match up type guy or energy off the bench.  I think he'd be insane off the bench.  However I think the biggest issue with Diabate and Kaulk is the lack of offensive game.  The lack of a jump shot or anything.  Teams figured out to just leave them on the screen and crash lanes.  There has to be some sort of threat.  We need a 4 and a 5 that can do those things and stretch out the court. 3) Bridges.  He's just undersized.  However, I feel he really threw his all into it the last few weeks when others were gassed.  He was ok not being a focal point.  I'd like to have him off the bench as well but I assume he'd be traded to make things work.  4) Miller.  Dude can light it up when on, but disappears for quarters at a time.  Also he needs to work on ball handling and passing.  He's a turnover machine at bad times.  Also hopefully over the injury so he can bulk up too.   5) Kon. Just a rookie.  Long season and back injury.  I have no doubt he'll be back stronger and focused.  Needs to work on defense and physicality like the whole team but yes, a rookie he'll get there. 6) Coby.  Has to be resigned, no question.  The bench lineup is rough without him running the point.  Team has big potential and the front office seems sharp.  They seen the hive and how crazy it got and how much the city wants this.
