^all very true... But basically it's what I said it was. You are correct as well and obviously went more in depth with a Fantastic analysis. I just wanted to keep it simple to prove a point. Well done. You are 100% correct.

Edit: I personally loved hearing "999" in the huddle, mostly in practice, but I loved it none the less.

I designed an offense for my buddy's youth flag football team (4 receivers, 2 backs, the coach plays quarterback) a few months back.

In the play diagrams, I used X-Box buttons to denote their positions. Figured I'd give them something they could relate to

Who said Edwards would be the Number 1 receiver? He'd help smith not get triple teamed. I think he'd be a great complementary Solid #2, has a Potential to be a #1 after Smith leaves. Besides in NY he's a solid #2. Smith and Edwards 1 and 2 punch.

If Smith stays we don't need Edwards. Gettis or Lafell are just as capable of having as good a season as Edwards and they are already signed. If Smith is gone then Edwards will be a poor substitute. We might have to go that direction but it would hardly be a good switch. If we are going to bring someone in I would be okay with Edwards if he were cheap. But I still like the scenario where we trade Smitty and a draft pick to San Diego for Vincent Jackson. As for free agents out there, Edwards wouldn't be my first choice unless he is cheap which I gather he wouldn't be.

All this "knowing Chudz's offense" is making me sick!

You do realize that you're talking about the WR position right??

Let's see here... Route running, blocking assignments, catch the ball and try to score...

Not fuggin rocket science... Plug n play a WR

Now with all that said if we didpick up Braylon I would support it. Just wouldn't be my choice, that's all...

If WR is so plug and play and you can shift from system to system with no problem then why did a Sydney Rice have one good year with Favre and that system but hasn't done Jack, before or after. Why has Braylon Edwards had one 1000 yards season in his career?

Obviously the system does matter and for example guys who flourish in a WCO short passing attack with few real running plays may not be ideally suited for an offense where everything is vertical and blocking is considered a big deal.

In Rice's situation, it is not the system....it was the QB.

Before and after Favre, the Vikings have had poo at QB.

First off Smith will be back, Second DWill will be back, Third CJ will be back, the only one im not sure of is Anderson. We have a high pick invested in Connor and he wont be playing special teams his whole career. Beason, Davis, and Connor will make a terrific LB corp for a long time. I think we will look at all options for DT to help bring along those massive bodies we drafted, as well as look at the intrest of a Asomugha in coming here(stupid not to at least ask). Also looking at the WR position if Smith(NYG) wants out of new york he is more than welcome here(you know what they say, never enough Smittys). All in all we should spend almost all of our cap room in a free agency the likes of which Panther fans have been starving for for years.

    • What's wrong with Damien Lewis? He played pretty well last year.
    • Official NFL Cuts Tracker Deadline for roster cuts is Tuesday, August 26th. At this moment (Friday, August 22nd) the only interesting names I see are... K Caden Davis (BUF) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (NO) LB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) Abdullah, St. Brown, Peoples-Jones I don't exactly think we should cut anybody for but it was just interesting seeing those names. Khaleke Hudson was on the Panthers' practice squad last year I believe and might have even gotten called up? And of course, Caden Davis just because of the question mark at kicker this season for the team.
    • I'll say 6/10. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole. For all the hype surrounding Sanders/Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
