Forbes: Panthers are 17th most valuable sports franchise in the world

'Jerry sucks as an owner, Jerry doesn't know what he's doing....'

good business mind =/= good football mind

anyways as for Atlanta they have one of the worst fan bases in sports. Braves are one of the best baseball teams in the MLB yet their attendance is embarrassing. they just lost their hockey team, and their NBA team was boo'ing them and cheering for the opponent in the playoffs.

it doesn't surprise me at all that their football team is far down the list.

Knock Jerry all you want, but he is a brilliant businessman. He paid a franchise fee of $206 million in 1993 and the stadium is paid for by the fans. Not a bad return on investment.

Never said he wasn't. Jerry wants to make money first.....win 2nd. Which is probably the way it should be. But most franchises hit points where they let that flip flop.

If we're worth 1.02 Billion bucks AFTER a 2-14 season I think that it speaks volumes for what is being done in Charlotte with the Panthers... Just wait til Cam shows his true worth and we win a SuperBowl!

could speak volumes that a fanbase doesn't real care about the product as long as you give it to them. I would be surprised if Houston and Carolina stay where they are if in another 15 yrs they have been fairly comparable in terms of postseason appearances.

Yup and we own our own stadium as a result of tremendous fan support.

I'd like to see the Falcons try to sell PSL's.

the big kicker is when Jerry's stadium gets old......he better win a lot more the next 15 years. Football won't be a new show in town.

You are entitled to your own opinion, but I don't agree with that at all. Once you get that much money, who cares if you make $100 million v. 120 million a year. The Panthers are so valuable because of the product they put on the field.

As I have stated many many times, Jerry has a track record of spending money for 15 years. I refuse to change my opinion of him based on one year of poor judgment. Arguing otherwise would be like saying Brett Favre shouldn't go into the hall of fame based on his 2010 season alone. You have to look at the total picture.

    • PJ's completion % was 63% when starting games in Carolina.  Which I believe is better than Bryce when starting.  And again, 4-3 as the starter here and the LONE QB Carolina has been able to actually win with in the Tepper era.  If you ask a gambling gunslinger to come into blowouts.....they are going to go down in a blaze of glory.  Which he would do.  Yeah, he isn't good.  And gunslingers are supposed to have rockier stats than checkdown QBs.   So....why does PJ Walker have a better comp % as a starter than Bryce Young.  And for every knock you want to make about PJ, you can find something or a skillset that PJ does better than Bryce.   I didn't say PJ had good field vision.  He doesn't.  Tell me about Bryce after he comes off the first read lol.  Let me repeat, PJ Walker is not a good QB.  He is NFL depth and an in house arm.  Bryce Young doesn't belong in a convo w/ Jake and Cam.  He belongs closer in a convo with the backup caliber QBs Carolina was forced into playing.  Which isn't just PJ Walker.  But Kyle Allen.  Moore.  Guys like that.
    • Oh I see what you meant by memory. I will trust my memory, I have looked a a lot of those ball charts for Bryce and they trend a general pattern. They thing that has changed that I have noticed more recently is the reduction in the bunching of behind or at  the LOS passes over to his right.  Aside from the quantity of throws recently since the running game has become a more dominant factor.
    • Yes but you basically said you are going from a quick skim of those charts without doing the same for Bryce and/or Andy. So you are going memory vs. snapshots. That's not going to be a very comprehensive analysis.
