Charles Johnson "Hopefully it's in Carolina"

We aren't 2-14 bad.

Not the GB Packers either, but we are going to be on the rise soon.

understood, but we were 4-12 bad. we still don't know if we have a QB, and in the next few days we could very well lose the best RB and WR that the franchise has ever seen. We play in the toughest division in football and our DL doesn't have much going for it.

We might be on the rise soon. We might not. If he can get similar money from a team with a more solid future I could see him leaving.

Charles Johnson is the reason Williams won't be here. To keep CJ we have to overpay to keep him......No point overpaying both. And to keep Williams you would pay to much considering his age, mileage, recent health, and current shape of the backfield.

Go ahead and start an Oh Wee Mayne I can't believe Williams is gone the world is over thread.

It doesn't make sense that Carolina won't be willing to overpay both Johnson and Williams? In order to keep either you are gonna have to pay more than they are worth. Carolina will bite the bullet for Johnson.....won't consider overpaying Williams at that point. If they didn't have to worry about Johnson they might be a tad more willing to overspend to keep a luxurey like Williams.

Cj mentioned something on Twitter a couple of days ago about not being able to say he was going to Atlanta to help a friend move without people taking it the wrong way.

This week is going to be as painful as the last few now that there is some visible light at the end of this tunnel.

No it doesn't. Johnson is going to get paid but that has little effect on Williams at all. By the time Richardson pays all the signing bonuses we will be close to 180 million in salary this year. So there will be no issue about saving money if we hope to be competitive at all.

They are not going to have to overspend. Who in the league will be in a bidding war for those two that have any chance of going far in the playoffs?

They will if they want to keep Charles Johnson. You are basically paying him for future success/production. That will make him overpaid b/c he won't be proven to be worth his new contract. The Bears took on Pep last year.....and realistically you think they thought they would make a deep playoff run last year w/ that WR corp?

also, not sure I would say bidding war.....but there are teams that will pay DeAngleo X amount of dollars and that will more than Carolina should match.
