Greg Hardy slightly injured in motorcycle crash

Recommended Posts

I really don't understand why players would risk themselves by riding. This coming from a former rider.

Mostly because they are young and they don't think about the consequences of the things they do. I did a lot of stupid things when I was in my teens and twenties that I wouldn't even consider doing now.

so did I. the big thing with bikes though is that you can't account for other people's actions. The number of times I was nearly knocked off my bike by someone merging over is ridiculous.

the other thing is riding gear. I know he isn't the highest paid player but I know he could have at least afforded what is needed to not get skinned up. If he was riding down 40 in street clothes...well...there's something to be said for his intelligence.

Guys hardy is that kind of person, he is a bad boy mofo. He is easily second round grade talent...yet went in the 6th for a reason.

I am just happy he didn't do something even more stupid, and I hope he doesn't slip because I think he'd continue to play well and disciplined under Rivera.

Still it's scary to think becasue I consider him the next best DE, surpassing Brown IMO.

this isn't the first thing though. did you read the article? the track record worries me

...was charged with driving without a license and three other violations - failure to yield, failure to exercise due care and following too closely...

Hardy was stopped in Mecklenburg County in February and charged with driving without a license and registration, according to court records.

I'll give him that this happens a lot though. Its a big reason to not ride in the rain.

Hardy, who was wearing a helmet, said the other driver pulled in front of him and "punched on his brakes."

    • It will be really interesting to see how both sides handle this. I'm sure the team would love to get him signed to a 4 year deal based on his output so far and some potential factored in, i.e. something like a 4 year $30 million contract.  But I could see his agent telling him the best path is to take the one year offer, put up a big year next year and then really cash in. The team also has to keep in mind T-Mac's 2nd contract, which likely will happen after the 2027 season assuming he keeps improving as expected.  Even if we could get him on a budget 4 year deal for what he could become, the problem then becomes when he wants to re-negotiate in 2 years during the same summer we will extend T-Mac, and you don't want to spend that much on WRs in one offseason, just see the Bengals this last year. Taking everything into consideration, I'm thinking the 1 year deal and then getting him to sign a 4-5 year deal after hopefully say a 800ish yard season next year might be best for our cap situation and separate his and T-Mac's negotiation periods.
    • And yet jax made it no further than we did, and its very possible the Pats don't either. I think it speaks more to the overall down year for the nfl as far as having great/dominant teams, every team this year has fatal flaws that can be exploited
    • Ehhh I agree the nfc is stronger this year but their really werent any truly dominant teams this year everyone is flawed, I think the narrative for the NFL this year will to try ahd force a Josh Allen SB win
