Clausen must start! Yes, you read this right.

Some people aren't thinking about the main difference and that's NFL experience, even if it's bad experience it's still valuable experience and that means a whole lot in the NFL.

Although, I really think it'll be a vet qb for a while as Cam gets a grasp of things or at least that's how it should be.

YOU SHUT YOUR ***** MOUTH!!!

Just kidding. my thought process is that all these guys are in the same boat as Cam since it is a new coaching staff. Therefore I don't really see Clausen having any advantage over Cam in terms of knowing the offense, etc.

So I say :cam:

I'm not arguing that Clausen has an advantage... I actually think Cam maybe able to produce more than Jimmy week 1.

My thing is that the team won't be ready and it's not the perfect situation to put a rookie in... I'll rather sacrafice Jimmy the first few weeks while the offense gets up to speed, then let Cam come in.

The way I see it we need to do whats best to develop our young QB, give him confidence, and have him ready. I don't care about being more competitve week 1 if it leads to CAM being in a better position when he does start playing.

Like I said, I know most disagree, but that's just how I see things.

I don't see how a guy who was mediocre in college and then plays crappy on a crappy team in the NFl is better off than a guy who was stellar in college and is now going to play his first game. Seems to me that the guy with more talent and ability will trump the average guy at this point given they are both learning a new system and no matter how much more experience he has, talent and athleticism is more important in the long run.

I say Cam is starting week one whether people like it or not. You either learn from the sidelines or from playing. Cam seems much more like the type that plays through his mistakes and learns from them rather than doing the year long mentor shtick on the sidelines. If Flacco from fricken Delaware, Matt Ryan, and for chrit sakes Sanchez can start every game from their first, Newton sure as hell can. Start him week one imho

For me the major difference between them and Cam as that their teams had time to get ready for the season and coaching changes. Unlike those teams our timeline is cut in half. It just seems like we will be rushing for no reason.

Im thinking that Cam Newton being a part of this team was a BIG reason alot of these guys resigned. Cam represents a new direction and he ignites some excitement about this organization again. I understand the argument to start Jimmy... but with the pieces that Cam has... I dont see why he cant see some success early on. He has a power running game... a veteran WR in Steve Smith, a healthy o-line, the BEST TE core in the league, and 2 young receivers to grow with.

Can you imagine, Steve Smith in an interview with Marty and Rivera:

"Steve, we're going in a new direction this year and we want you to be apart of it. Jimmy's gonna throw you the ball more often!"

Naaah. Dont see it.
