We are NOT over the cap according to Schefter tweet

like i said in that other thread about the cap...i'm going to take every report with a grain of salt until more official numbers come out. not sure where anyone is getting their numbers from but things are pretty much in flux right now.

when the NFLPA gets going again we should be able to find numbers on their website.

hopefully we aren't over the cap or even close to it. the teams that are close or over it may have some valuable cap casualties come about. oakland shouldn't have let a guy like zach miller get away, but their cap made it impossible to retain. i doubt we'll find the zach miller version of a CB out there, but we should be able to find someone who can come in and play the #2 or #3 CB in the slot well.

man I honestly feel bad for Raider fans. no joke.

I know the Bengals are assigned the worst franchise in the NFL, but I honestly think the Raiders are worse.

Bengals and Raiders.... Both those franchises are ran by the worst owners...

Raiders??? How the hell do you lose your top players, but are still that far over the salary cap with a team with little talent??? WTF??? My goodness, to be a raider fan.... Maybe I should go take a visit to their board.. Lol

cut some people, restructure Kalil, and trade for Asante

reading the training camp update thread has me shitting my pants about the corner position. really don't want to see Kevin corn on the Kolb shred us for 300 yards on opening day

    • Doubling tripling and quadrupling down on this subject in defense of the pick is reminiscent of a certain mindset that has overtaken the political world. This conversation will become less contentious and dragged out to the point of becoming a dead beaten horse if rational minds can simply agree that we made a mistake missed on a potential franchise center and we will learn from it. All this coping is unnecessary.
    • Here in lies the rub that the supporting posters continue to ignore. He wasn’t a 2nd round pick in the 2025 class, especially with an ACL tear. It was a dumb pick for any GM who looks ahead to determine values. C and CB were much better values than an injured RB in 2024. If a RB isn’t even playing much in 2024, you have to compare him to 2025. We’re beating a dead horse but only because the defense of the pick is almost comical at this point. We’ve made a ton of poo picks and moves/non trades while Morgan was GM and the assistant GM. It happens, we don’t have to jump through hoops to act like we just had some really bad luck. The 2025 draft class is unknown so far but damn it felt way better afterwards for the first time in a long time. Embrace the potential and stop stamping guaranteed on the box of poo of the 2018-2024 drafts. We are were we aware because of them and 2025 has to hit so we can get past the 7 win max in 7 year hurdle. Also, “flashed his talent” isn’t 9 carries for 22 yards. His one reception for 18 yards isn’t a flash with 11 other touches for 27 yards. He hasn’t proven anything. We have no idea if he’ll contribute in 2026.
    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
