corvey irvin over nick hayden

QB3 doesn't really count against the roster, right? so we could keep barney on the roster and not have it effect things.

predicting the game day roster is going to be much harder to do. there are some talented people that are going to be left w/out jersey's on game day.

Yea, I think they are giving him time at LS so they can cut JJ. Possibly to make room for a ST gunner at the WR spot or another player somewhere else.

i think rivera is big on guys being capable of helping in more than one area, barnidge could see time at te & he already plays alot on special teams. the days of having four specialist appear to be over

despite rivera going postal on irvin, he's been playing well in camp so far & i see him making the cut

He's looked ok so far, he had that INT on Clausen the other practice. I think he's got a chance to be in play for the Nickel if they don't bring anyone else in. If the team brings someone in then he's probably going to be the 4th or 5th corner just by default.

Gamble/ FA pickup?/ Captn/ Hogan/ McClain/ Stanford

Also don't be surprised if Wilson comes in a blows it up and steals the CB2 or Nickel spot away from someone else.

Why do people refuse to understand that Hogan is still injured. He is unlikely to play at all this season.

Hartsock will be listed as a FB, barney makes it.

+1

Hartsock could make a good H-back, or a player that plays FB and TE. Hartsock played TE in college, and he also played linebacker and running back. Honestly, he'd make a good fit for FB. Someone strong, somewhat fast (running back after all), and has decent hands it seems.

I must say, the H-back position is probably one of my more favorite ones. And if I was to use that particular position Hartsock would be a favorite choice of mine.

Smith

Naanee

Gettis

Lafell/Edwards

Wouldn't be surprised if that looks like our receiver core, with Lafell and Edwards sharing time playing on the field. Or, possibly Edwards beats him out for the job, not better then the three guys ahead of him though methinks.

Pilares is kept in case someone gets hurt, and to help with giving breaks to the starters when they need them. If Edwards proves to be good on special teams they have him be the punt returner and takes away a spot used for solely special teams use.

I more or less agree with yours. I'd add Barnidge and drop Hartstock though. Hopefully Hayden finally gets the boot....I know it's merely wishful thinking. Not certain Hogan goes to IR, I'd guess PUP for 6 weeks into the regular season.

Hartsock is probaby safer than Shockey (even though Shockey is safe); he is the only blocking TE on the roster.

Duke Robinson at LG? I have not seen that before (Bernadeau can play behind Wharton and Kalil)...Corvey Irvin has been starting at DT (3 tech). Of course, they are hesitant to put McClain there so soon and rightly so. Does than mean Irvin may be emerging? Who knows...Gaither will make this team at MLB/SLB. Connor is probably going to be traded, IMO...Jason Williams is on the PUP, and he will back Anderson. The last I heard about Wilson is that he gives Davis at WLB depth. Senn is really a ST only guy. Who knows? Our LBs are pretty versatile... This really shows how bad we are at CB. Unless we sign a good player, we will get picked apart in our division.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
