DT Ron Edwards injured

Recommended Posts

Again, our team has way more talent than a 2-14 team. Circumstances were a little different last season. The two teams can't be prepared, even though the players are the same.

Also, the loss of Ron Edwards is a pretty big deal. I'm not saying he was our "ticket to the Super Bowl", because realistically, we're not going to make it to .500 this season, however, Ron Edwards could've helped our rookie DTs learn. Sure, he can still teach on the sidelines, but, he wouldn't be out there showing them what to do.

I mean you make it sound like we did nothing. We totally revamped the TE position with upgrades. And at least we drafted two 3rd round DT's to help the position. It's like having two guys that are at least twice as good as Nick Hayden. Though I agree we don't have a proven starter.

nick hayden is our savior on defense how dare thee

If you were hoping to have a winning season, the loss of Ron Edwards is HUGE.

If you were thinking we'd show great improvement and had tried to keep away from predicting wins and losses, then the loss of Edwards may not be such a big deal...

Ok so say we let deangelo and charles johnson walk, and thomas davis and anderson while were at it. What would your alternative course of action been rocknrolla. Not being sarcastic either I'm serious.

Everyone brings up 2-14 so I'm just wondering what the armchair gms would do.

same o-line, same d-line except 2 rookies, same backfield....im not as excited about our defense as when Rivera was named coach and McDermott DC. We may show improvement on offense, but I think our defense will struggle. Don't see how we get to 8-8. Or 7-9 for that matter.

Some of you guys talk of Edwards as if he were a pro-bowler. It is gonna be alright, just calm down.

Sure it's terrible for him and tough for the team, but these things happen every year to every team. We will find someone to fill the hole and continue on.

Frankly, I am more worried about getting Beason, Connor and Gamble back on the field.

Ridiculous idea at this level.

Just a thought. Don't know if any of our personnel would be able to do it. It's before the first preseason game, I'm confident I remember a couple of other teams at least doing similar things. Not even *suggesting* we do it, just throwing it out there.
