LaFell Odd Man Out?

Should be? Not really.

Could be? If he doesn't work himself back near the top of the rotation, possibly.

I'm not sold on Clowney being more than this year's "camp flash" myself, but if the team is, who knows.

We'll know more once we see actual game action.

This is his first day back from about a week and Naane was brought here to make an impact. Coming into the season Gettis was #2 and Lafell #3, seeing Naane came here when Getty and Lafell were hurt, he is inserted as the #2 for the time being. Lafell will have to work to see playing time, no doubt.

Hey Naanee has looked pretty decent against the scrub 2nd and 3rd stringers. Maybe we should let him run a bit with the 1's and see how he does against those guys?

Sounds good but uh, you don't think people are gonna jump to any crazy conclusions like LaFell is going to get cut?

Naaaaaaaaaahhhhhh

LaFell with Clausen -

24 Years Old

38 catches

468 yards

1 td

Nanee with Rivers -

27 years old

Most catches in a season - 24

most yards in a season - 371

most tds in a season - 2

I like LaFell as a WR more than I like Nanee. He is a good special teams player though.

His SD production is not that relevant. That system does not give value to the #3 receiver because Gates acts as the #1 receiver. The only year Legedu got time as a 1 or 2 was last year... 4 starts in he pulled a hammy and wasn't the same the rest of the season. He had 11 catches in his 4 starts for 177 and 1 TD.

This... you can't compare a guy who is asked to be the #3, #4 option to a guy who had to start mose games due to pure lack of talent on the field.

If you switch there roles we'll be talking about how awesome Legedu was in Carolina last year because he forced into a starting position and racked up yards playing from behind as 1 of the only catching options on the team.

Put LaFell in SD the previous years when they had talent at the position and he would have put up numbers like most #3 and #4 WR's do!

No way LaFell gets cut or traded. What is wrong with you people.

No way John Kasay gets cut either.

(oops)

Again, I think it's unlikely, but there's evidence that Rivera may be more of a wild card than anyone expected. So for my part, I think it's best to assume nothing.

John Kasay was well-respected, considered a leader, one of the more consisdtent guys on the team and as closely identified with the franchise as anyone short of Steve Smith. If a guy like that can be cut, it's tough to classify anyone as "untouchable".

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
