The Panther Mascot Appreciation Thread

So obviously Sur Purr is kind of lame but I think it's pretty hard to argue that we don't have the best the mascot/color scheme/uniforms in the NFL.

I mean how can you top a Panther? Fast, sleek, strong, and ferocious. It can't be coincidence that the characteristics of a panther happen to be the attributes of what every great NFL player should be. Also, way back in the day panthers and jaguars used to roam the Carolinas. Mr. Richardson and Co really hit the nail on the head with "the Panthers". I believe it to be a timeless mascot, it couldn't have been better.

I had the opportunity to work with big cats about a year and a half ago and I've seen a panther in person. They were easily the scariest and most ferocious cat in the sanctuary. Topping both lions and tigers in meanness. They are seriously badass motherfu**ers. We should be grateful imo, we lucked out.

Nope, Panthers are not a 'species' and are just a color (skin color) of the cats said mainly Jaguars/Leopards, MAYBE cougars (never recorded) even Bobcats that are black are called them I think etc. Panther is just a word. You can tell because some are really small and some are fuging huge, bigger than a lion, and they all look different and have different degrees of pigmentation. Basically just black cats of different species, or perhaps a mutt species from a type of domestication (see video) but the blackness is very rare and they seem to have a different 'majestic' personality and are rarely seen.

    • That may be, but he has been the best "complimentary" piece. Hell, there is an argument that the others are the complimentary pieces. I still ain't mad. What's done is done, but I'll always look at those two firsts as the trade that got away. We lost a ton of value, from not take ng the Rams' offer, and now we seemingly lost a bit more due to his current play. It's been a acknowledged, now let's move on because that's all that we can do.
    • If you can't tell that Morgan is investing assets to try and make a dominant pass rush I don't know what to tell you. Tried to sign the dude from Philly, brought in 4ish free agents, double dipped in the draft. The plan may not pan out but it is clear the plan is to build from the line out on both sides of the ball
    • I am gonna say good for him. That is kind of impressive.
