An observation on Rivera

The brother of someone I work with works for the Panthers, has for several years. (That's how I got the autograophed football for Christmas last year from my staff). He told his sister that he really likes Rivera, thinks he will be a very good coach. He said that Rivera works with the players a lot more than John Fox ever did.

Just wondering if those of you who have been to practice have noticed. Does Rivera seem more involved-hands on?

i've seen several people comment on the fact that rivera roams during practices and will pull a player aside during drills/practice and coach them up right then and there

i like the hands on approach, personally... i think it'll definitely help our young team

I mentioned it earlier, but both he and Chud both worked for one of the best "teaching" coaches in the NFL last season.

I agree. You have to throw the rock to win, and with him knowing the Coryell O, especially Norv's version, he will be popular.

I am just soo happy to have an aggressive offense that is willing and geared to passing the rock. It is way to easy to stop the run, passing is alot more lethal.

Nothing I hate more than some conservative old school pound the rock vanilla offense that runs the ball on 3rd and 15 lol

Absolutely, Rivera is very hands on and if you go to practice and want to find him, don't look at the sidelines.

You will still see a lot of running on 3rd and 15 this season, our QB's and WR's aren't quite ready for too many wild blitzes.

All reports that I have read mentioned how Rivera has been teaching in between plays and being very hands-on.

Its good that we have a hands on coach who wants to bring the best out of a player thats something that has been missing for a while!

When they hired him, and he addressed the media for the first time................the man had my respect. You can sense his intensity and passion for the game just by seeing him speak. I hope I am not proven wrong, but as of now, I truly believe he will be the best coach we have ever had!!! Coach is a word, who's true meaning remains oblivious to way too many people, that obtain the title.
