inboard or out and what do you think are the positives and negatives of each?

I will be on small fresh water, plan to use it primarily for skiing, tubing, boarding and general putsing around.

what size boat and motor are you asking about?

an outboard can always be lifted to escape damage from shallow water and rocks

an outboard can be removed from the boat fairly easily and sent out for repair

There is a variety of reasons to go outboard in your situation, but I can't list them now. Take my word for it weighted with the word of others.

If you want to fish make sure there isn't any stupid poo in the way of you casting.

No real pros or cons. An inboard will keep the back of the boat less cluttered and will be better for pulling stuff. You can go either way and not go wrong.

We have a 17 foot inboard/outboard and love it. Perfect for the 4 of us having fun on the lake.

I will never own an inboard.

Look for a used Grady 19 tournament, it would be perfect for what you are doing.

Yamaha outboard if it's a 2 cycle, if it's a 4 stroke, almost all of them are OK.

i'd go I/O unless you're taking to the beach, then I'd go outboard

I/O is what my pops always had at the lake. you can still avoid damage from the bottom with them.

thanks...I do like the idea of having the inboard for the nice clean look at the back of the boat etc. Just was never sure if there was clear performance advantages to either etc. thanks for your input
