How long should Cam play on Thursday?

At least the first half, but...I would establish the run game before having him try to make the majority of his throws. Give him some swing passes & screen early, then run, then let him work on his decision-making & accuracy. 1 or 2 series means he has to work on his accuracy more during the season. I think he needs more time & timing with his WRs.

I really don't think Pitt will play many of there starters so Cam should get out of this one alive if some of you guys are that worried..

Its not really that I'm worried about their defense in general, backups that is. Its just I honestly have very little faith in our backup O-Line that I don't want some freak accident occurring and him getting blindsided.

But, it is football. He has to play to learn. We need him better and we need him better fast. More reps=more success faster.

Consider the risk versus the reward in this situation. Cam starts the entire first half, and best case scenario, he plays well and get's a little tad more experience than if he had been pulled. Worse case scenario, Cam suffers a season end injury in a meaningless game.

I really think throwing a TD will do wonders for building confidence in his passing.

Agreed. It's gonna become a mind thing for him if it doesn't happen soon. I mean he basically had one to Smitty last week, timing was just a little off but still a great ball.

But just seeing a pass caught in the endzone is going to be big for him. On a related note, I think the two big runs last game are going to give him confidence that he can still do that on this level. Granted, lets not get crazy with it though.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
