Pilares has high ankle sprain

Man, I REALLY wanted to see what he could do in the regular season, although his reps would've been limited, this sucks. I'm sure he will be put on IR now...

Hopefully, we pick up one of the Tates if they're released either way, but I really wanted to see what Pilares could do this year.

SN: Our medical and strength/conditioning staff sucks.

I guess it's easy to point the finger at Ryan Vermillion, but trainers these days are not much more then water boys with a four year degree....your right it all comes down to strength and conditioning.

injuries happen. high ankle sprains just happen. it's a fluke injury.

not sure anyone can blame the conditioning staff for much of anything here, though. if they had a full offseason with the guys, then maybe you could criticize them but that just isn't the case.

this team isn't being hit with injuries worse than most the league.

just a whole lot of overreacting going on al over the place.

I know they happen all the time, but here it happens with HUGE injuries every year... I can't remember who I was listening to the other day, but I believe it was a coach that said "injuries are going to happen, we're just hoping none of the injuries that happen are significant."

That's our problem... We get the little injuries too, but we get hit with big ones every year and at least one area of our team gets decimated by them.

I was joking (kind of) about Vermillion, as far as I know he's really well regarded around the league. But, a high ankle sprain usually doesn't happen if taped properly... And I do think there is something to our conditioning and possibly weight training routines during the season that contribute to the amount of injuries.

Then again, I don't know what those routines are... It just seems we get hit at a disproportionate rate every year.

I'll be pissed if we cut him. The dude is special and if he gets a chance he's going to shine.

he might be special, but really we've been saying the same thing about other WRs for years that never really amounted to anything.

taye biddle, jason carter, kenny moore, drew carter, rhyne robinson....every year it's some other guy.

truth is, pilares hasn't particularly stood over the rest of the guys. considering how weak this WR corps is, that just isn't saying much.

we want him to be special but he hasn't done anything to show that he is.

at least if he goes on IR that will buy him some time, of course that has't really meant much to a lot of those hopefuls.

I kept saying all along that Dwayne Harris from ECU would be a STEAL in just about any round. We wasted a pick on this Pilares guy (who was hurt when we drafted him) and in the meantime, in Dwayne Harris' first NFL Preseason game he had what... 127 yards and 2 TD's receiving? *SMDH*

read post, then read username, then I chuckled
