It wasn't an incomplete...Check ur video again. The ball was right at shockley's gut. It looked like the Steeler grab his hand, not knock the ball down.

WTF is an incomplete pass to you then? smh

Now the TD pass to shockey was awesome. See he completed the pass and Shockey scored. That's what I'll get excited about and I actuallly cheered for Cam.

That was a total boneheaded throw. I'm sure he got chewed out for it.

probably not considering he made a perfect throw.....and in the regular season it also would have drawn a PI call.

That is why you draft Cam Newton. He has a skill set to do what other QBs can't. He pulled off the same type throws in college.

Despite the look of it....he actually made a perfect and safe throw.....and avoided a sack (which Clausen would have taken long before).

If Cam had thrown that over the middle of the field it may have been mroe boneheaded......but based on what he did....that is just a reason why you draft someone like him.

What would it take for you to level even the slightest amount of criticism against Newton? It ended up a good throw, but there was nothing safe about it.

Again it wasn't perfect. it was incomplete. But whenyou say it was thrown to a safe area where it would not get intercepted then I agree. And again amazing arm strength and athletic ability just to get it off. Let me clarify Cam, to me, isn't the problem in this post. Its the over the top adjectives used in describing an incompletion. Let's rave about his TD or his first pass to Nanee. Hell i thought that pass was an INT but he threw the poo out of that. His arm strength is amazing.

I have said plenty of them.....but I am not going to pointlessly twist his positives into negatives.

Cam's footwork is horrible. Cam doesn't check down quick enough often looking for bigger pass plays too often. Cam hasn't learned there are some throws he can't make at this level despite his arm strength (would have been nice if he got picked so it would be more obvious to him), Cam refuses to slide which is going to end up putting him on the sideline at some point, etc.

But the play in question is again, a reason you draft him. A skill set to do what others can't.

Maybe your name should be "Captain Clueless" if all that matters to you is the outcome. If it has to be a "completion" or have resulted in a penalty that moves the chains in order for you to consider it to be a good play, then you're clueless. A bad play can move the chains, or result in a TD, because it's not the result that determines whether a play was smart or not, which is why many teams and players have played poorly, still won, and then self-destructed when it mattered...because they were never really making "good plays" just because the "outcome" was good. If this play was bad, it's only because it wasn't a smart play. Most of the time, passes like that aren't going to end up anywhere near the receiver, or worse, get picked, therefore, it was a bad play, not because it was "incomplete", but because it's an unreliable play. The TD pass to Shockey was a worse throw than the one when he was falling down because Shockey shouldn't have had to jump on a pass from that close, but it was a better play because it was high percentage, not because it "resulted in" a TD.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
