Panthers Scouting Pat White hard

Wyche also reports that 25 NFL teams were represented at the West Virginia Pro Day. We personally spotted Steelers coach Mike Tomlin (who apparently always attends the WVU Pro Day, given its proximity to Pittsburgh), Bears director of college scouting Greg Gabriel, and scouts sporting the colors and logos of the Chiefs, Panthers, Packers, Vikings, Bills, Packers, Raiders, 49ers, Eagles, Giants, Ravens, Bills, and Jets.

The Panthers had two or three guys who were keeping a close eye on White as he threw passes.

I know this is cliche, but he'd be a nice "Wildcat" option. He can actually throw. Pat White, DeAngelo, and Stewart in the same backfield would be pretty sweet.

That plus I think he has thrown better this offseason then any of the QB that are in this draft. I really hope we get him. But I don't want to pick him earlier then early 3rd round.

I wouldn't mind it if we didn't need to address the CB spot in the 3rd round also, if the 2nd round pick is used to address the DT spot.

Most likely we will have more picks hopefulley another 1 and 2nd. But if we dont I agree we need to address those two positions first.

    • Canales has never been part of big YAC offenses in the NFL.  That’s not his tree.  Not in Seattle, Tampa or here.  Every O he has been associated with basically has been bottom half of the league in YAC.  That’s what Bryce needs to happen though  2 very different things
    • Well, his job is to win and make Bryce better and other stuff too but he has to have a certain amount of buy in to make that work. If it is real or he has to talk himself into believing it, as coach and leader and in the context of the present time with the whole team needing to believe, who knows? You lie if you have to.  I think you have have to separate that Canales from the detached offseason evaluation Canales. It is possible that you are correct and he is sold on Bryce. It is also possible that he isn’t, but cannot confess.
    • Ah yes, the old "accuse your opponent of what you're actually trying to do" tactic. Always amusing 😄 You wanna drop out? No problem, but you should probably do so by just admitting the conversation is over your head.  Though truth be told, even if you don't wanna admit it, I'm pretty sure anyone reading this, watching you dodge the questions and just cut and paste the same recycled answers over and over again can probably already see that 😆
