God forbid you people spend 13 weeks in the swamp at Parris Island during the summer, then at Camp Lejeune for infantry training.

God did forbid it. He said, go north to Great Lakes and do bootcamp in the middle of winter so you can learn to march in formation on a solid sheet of ice. And I listened. :)

Not a big problem in the USMC, boot camp is either in SC or San Diego.

No. Marines had more ammunition.

Luckily for me, they only had a basic combat load. I guess I'm glad the Marines care more about commercials than marksmanship. Or else I would've been offed years ago.

The only "rest" day we got was Sunday...but towards the end of the cycle you start to notice there is less and less to do, so it gets more boring...not really restful..
