If John Fox were still here......

I tried to tell Broncos fans what to expect. Vanilla schemes, zero adjustments, gum chewing like a fugging madman, and clapping like a moron as the punt team trotted onto the field over and over.

They didn't believe me. Fox took the Panthers to a Super Bowl in his second year, he'll do the same in Denver. Nope. This is a different league now, but Foxball is still Foxball.

Orton is the best QB they have. The minute he listens to fans he should be fired.

We are worse than Denver, and it's not that close.

I'm not so sure. Denver's DL looks even worse than ours and they have no hope of running the ball with Moreno and McGahee. Moreno may be the weakest running RB I've ever seen at the NFL level and McGahee is just broken down. Foxball without a running game is a recipe for disaster. Especially with an easily rattled statue like Orton at QB.

Denver may end up having a better record than us, but that will have more to do with the strength of our respective divisions than it will to do with the quality of our teams.

lol ok

So, what? You're saying that strength of schedule has no bearing on the outcome of a team's record? The AFC West blows. If you're over. 500 in that division, you're probably winning it. It'll probably take 12 wins to take the NFC South, maybe more and the #2 team will have a good shot at a wildcard. Al Davis will make an intelligent roster decision and John Fox will make an in-game adjustement before an AFC West team gets a wildcard berth.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
