Kicker Market?

Sooo we gave up Kasey a clutch kicker for a kick in Mare that can't kick a 50 yarder. Why Oh why did Ron do that. 3Mill for a guy to only kickoff but can't kick a 50 yarder. Failure!!!:incazzato:

Today only supported my arguement. We haven't been kicking those 50+ FGs because Mare doesn't have the leg. Kasay made 55 last year for us and 53 this year. He would've made this FG. But supposedly Mare has a stronger leg. The facts don't support that claim.

This thread was never about Kasay, but about this lack in confidence the coaching staff has had in our Kicker, which today only verified why Rivera chooses to punt from the 35+yd line... :(

Just look around the league you will find many young kickers that are doing really well.. most kickers go undrafted and all we did was bring in mare and some no name kicker that didn't even do anything.

Look at ryan succop at KC he was 5/5 with long of 54 yards today.. and he is only 25. Can any of you honestly see mare being able to do that?

Mare isn't a soccer-style kicker like Kasay. His kicks will always look like chip shots.

Now I remember why the NFL has been slowly geared to favor the offense. The average fan can't see past what happened last week.

Mare is a better than average kicker. While I don't agree with letting Kasay guy, I don't disagree with the move. Mare didn't even have that bad of a day and, frankly, he should never even have been in the position of kicking a long FG. The block is on protection.

Well we deserve a better than average kicker.. we deserve a kicker that can actually do it all and not just a kickoff specialist. I mean mare has bounced around the league before coming here.. that should tell you something.
