Uh, yeah they were. I saw Forte get hit in the back field multiple times, a lot of which came on his big plays.

He's called a good game, our players didn't respond.

Do you wanna talk about the Cardinals game?

EDIT: While we're at it, and I remember the Peterson return, I would like to acknowledge ST as being an even bigger problem than our D.

yea poor tackling really killed us. many times we had people in position to stop forte for negative and gave up a huge play. we are so used to having davis/beason who almost NEVER miss tackles. Gotta remember forte is being paid money to make people miss.

Most of the big runs that they had were runs to the perimeter that Davis and Beason would normally clean up. What we saw today was the lack of athleticism and lack of ability to adapt by Williams, Connor, and Anderson. The DTs are going to be weak all year...they're rookies after all. The play of the LBs is what hurt us today. I think that Godfrey and Martin helped out in the running game as much as the LBs did, which is pathetic.

Not to mention the fact that on top of the defense, the ST screwed the game for us again...two long returns (one for a TD) and a blocked FG. That is the difference in at least 10 points right there on two plays. Then who knows if Chicago scores the other TD if Hester doesn't set them up. Just sloppy play all the way around. Every game we've played so far has been that way. A lot of penalties, missed tackles, and ST mistakes.

But selling out and getting gashed for 20+ yarders is happening a lot more than us getting them for a negative play.

Yes, there have been missed tackles and blown coverages, but some of that is because you have to adjust to your personnel. Beason and Davis aren't out there anymore.

I'm tired of seeing "Career High" every f*cking week beside an opponent's name.

As my "pissed off" level gradually decreases after the game ended, I'm not saying McDermott's playcalling is our biggest problem - part of that was being pissed in the heat of the moment after having Forte break off that big run when we still had a chance in the game.

But, this isn't all on the players like some are trying to say. I'm not seeing many adjustments being made with the changes we've had in personnel.

Sean McDermott can't make people avoid or shed blocks. There were plenty of chances for players to seal the Chicago running game up and the execution just wasn't there.

I'd say with Beason and Davis in the lineup the running game wouldn't have been nearly as effective. The rookie DTs also are hurting us but not as much as not having Beason and Davis.

I have no issue with the play calling especially considering how effective our line is at the pass rush vs. Chicagos pass blocking. Hardy, Johnson, and McClain seem to consistently pressure passers.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
