Saints were 12 for 17 on 3rd down. The Panthers, while also a high %(7 for 12) had as many 3rd downs as the Saints converted.

they scored too much. we didn't score enough. everything else is just excuses.

we could have won. we didn't.

ToP. 3rd down conversions. drops. none of it kept us from winning because we almost won with those number being the same.

they had quite a few 3rd and longs that they converted.. defense isn't going to put them in 3rd and long every time.. of those they did, they completed at least 4 (IIRC) at very important points of the game.. (a la late 4th quarter)

With the Stains though, I would rather them have 3rd and 3 than 3rd and 8, but they are getting better at short yardage running than they have been in the past.

Yup, no pressure on Brees... especially up the middle.

We will continue to suffer frustrating losses until we find someone who can collapse the pocket from up the middle and chase the opposing QB into CJ/Hardy.
