We're Getting Picked

I'm noticing a lot of picks coming in for us to beat Atlanta Sunday.

Off the top of my head, I know Peter King of SI, Mike Florio of PFT, and Jason Cole of Yahoo have all picked us, on top of a myriad number of analysts and sports betting blogs I've been on.

Further reinforcing this trend is that the spread has narrowed (probably because Vegas is tired of Cam repeatedly beating them ATS.)

There's a lot of interest in this game, even more than the New Orleans game, because Cam's playing in front of friends and family and the Falcons have been struggling. I hope we blow them out of the water, it would really give us a good push for the rest of the season.

we average more yards per game, more points per game, allow less yards per game, and give up the same points per game.

Carolina has been playing better than Atlanta. Not saying we win but we have looked to be the better team through 5 weeks of play.

I hate when we're picked. One day I may not feel the jinx, but for now it's still there every time we're picked

I normally feel the same way, but I keep reminding myself this is a new era. During the later Foxball years I always felt like when we were picked to win that Jake would throw 3 picks and we'd let everyone down and be out of the big picture. Now that we have Cam and a new attitude so to speak, I feel like this is a team that can play off of those high expectations. The bigger the game, the more pressure, the better Cam seems to play. Once this resonates throughout the team, we're in good shape.

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
