The Walking Dead on AMC

That's interesting, I did not see Shane as a murderous asshole. It was almost as if he was simply doing post-Zombie apocalypse, evolutional thinking. Although Otis was a skilled, efficient (1.5 kills with one bullet) hunter, he was in no physical shape to survive the distant future. He nearly has a heart attack when running.

On the other hand, Carl is the future, and if they can find the other little girl, maybe the youngest potential mates.

Furthermore, Shane must have gained some patriarchal feelings for Carl, since he basically assumed the role for a period of time. Otis' life was a necessary sacrifice to save his "son". If he doesn't kill Otis, then its likely that three people will die instead of just one, who was likely to die soonest of the three anyways.

or he could just be a selfish douchebag ;)

Lol I agree but he could have at least shot the poor bastard in the back of the head or something so he's not literally eaten alive by the undead. The vibe I got was he was looking more to self preservation than really worrying about the kid. Wasn't Otis the one coming up with the great ideas like offering to create a diversion while Shane escaped? Either way, I'm glad we have at least something interesting to discuss about these characters. Suicidal blonde is getting old by now, tits or gtfo.

We all know Shane is being set up to eventually be torn limb from limb.

If they follow the comics (which I'm hoping they will) Shane is going to meet a much more satisfying demise.

I still don't see how they both couldn't have survived though. The zombies were slow and they weren't that close. They should have saved some of those flares from the previous episode.

Its interesting to me the differences in how they are doing each episode this season. Last season they knew they were only going to do 6 so there was a lot in each episode. This season will be a normal 13(?)episode season and they have considerably slowed down with the action...

I havent read the comics, but remember PornShopClerk talkin about Andrea (suicidal blonde) becoming a badass, which it looks like that is what she is on her way to being. The emotional trauma of her sister, her wanting to let go and Dale not letting her, now shes playing with guns. I like it.. Tits would be nice too though...

Shane is more of a douche than we thought. I like the way they have brought him up. Thought he was a good guy, then he 'saves' his best friends' wife & kid and takes advantage of the situation. Then best friend shows up and you think hes a real asshole, but then they show how he tried to save Rick adn you think hes a decent guy again, just put into a fugged up situation. Now you see what he really is, doing a great job of keeping us on our toes...

I dont get why Shane had to off Otis, looked like they couldve both made it back to the truck. But then Shane wouldnt be a self-preserving douchenozzle if they both survived, now would he? Otis even had just saved Shane, just a few minutes before hand... What a dick...

I'm not gonna like I'm a big Shane fan and he really adds an exciting, unpredictable element to the show. I realize his days are probably numbered but if they whack him too early it could have serious consequences. He kind of reminds me of a more sinister Sawyer from Lost.
