Four million a year

This is the problem. We pay Mare $4 million a year to be the best at what he does. He hasn't made an important kick all season. My issue? The four million. This falls on MARTY BUM HURNEY!!! That extra four million could've gone to a defensive tackle that would help seal up the line. Million a year for a kicker is even questionable. Janikoswki was a first round pick. What's he getting? Mare has two blocked field goals and has missed more meaningful field goals then one that weren't. Blame other people, but "IT IS WHAT IT IS" and we were in that situation. WE PAY THIS WASHED UP DOLPHIN KICKER $4 MILLION PER YEAR TO BE THAT GUY GO GET US OUT OF THAT SITUATION. A kicker is very much like a closer in baseball. There's great ones, automatic ones, a lot like kickers. Your offense puts you in a position to win in baseball, and your closer blows a save, that's on your closer. What's done is done, if Rivera didn't think he could do it, we would've gone for it on 4th and 2, which I thought we should have anyways. I knew when Rivera elected to go for the tie he was going to miss the field goal. I have no confidence in Olindo Mare, and I want John Kasay back. Yeah Kasay can't hit 50+, but that doesn't come up often enough to make a difference.

Excuse me for venting hours later. I wanted some other opinions on this. thx guys. The Panthers will continue to find every which way possible to lose this year. Next game it'll be a safety and a reverse punt. Season's officially over.

Oh you didn't get the memo? Season was over when we put 10 players on IR.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
